Position Title: Financial Controller, India

Direct Manager: Chief Financial Officer, India

Business Unit : Finance

Job Purpose : You will be key member of the India Finance team, Value Protection

The role is intended to meet all the statutory (local and US GAAP) and tax requirements and monthly financial reporting and ledger close.

In addition, support for India CFO in ensuring financial integrity, preparation, reporting, and presentation of financial information as well as driving compliance with policy and procedures, including working with Global teams re-implementing any changes in Financial accounting policies or procedures.

Accountability :

- Financial Policy and timelines are maintained and regulatory and statutory reports are delivered to quality standards

- Provide input for the design and structure of India Accounting Teams and operations to ensure achievement of robust and effective control and operating environment for finance.

- Accountable for India's month-end, quarter end and year-end close processes for Controllership reporting and APAC consolidation process

- Partner India

- CFO, Deputy APC CFO and rest of APAC Finance Leadership team and business to provide financial control leadership

- Manage and comply with APAC countries reporting requirements and filings


- Oversee the internal and external audit processes, ensuring a robust internal control environment is documented and executed within India

- Responsible for compliance with Sarbanes Oxley Act

- Accountable for building, standardizing and maintaining Financial Accounting processes throughout the India Finance Team (including Client Finance Teams)

- Identify and drive process improvement and re-engineering processes towards C&W Global standard solution for Controllership

- Support India acquisitions from Financial Accounting and controls integration perspectives

- Assist with implementing financial controllership strategic initiatives for people, policies and technology in the country

- Liaise with APAC Controllership on the implementation and ongoing support of global policies and procedures, significant accounting policies, and other related checklists and tools

- Provide excellent customer service by proactively managing issue resolution and work with the India finance teams (including AR, Tax and Client Accounting Teams) to improve the finance processes

- Financial Control - accurate financial information, operating rhythm for our control environment (Policy, Process, Procedures documented and clarity re responsibility and accountability.

What we look for :

Education :

Master's Degree in Finance and Accounting, or equivalent (CA or equivalent).

Experience Essential :

- Strong technical accounting, reporting, and finance background;

- Experience in leading and working with virtual (remote) and matrixed teams

- Proven ability to influence and collaborate with senior internal and external stakeholders to achieve business outcomes

- Exceptional communication (written and oral) and presentation skills with an ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees including senior management

- Change management including change agent who can drive a culture of continuous improvement

- Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks/activities simultaneously

- Advanced critical thinking and analytical skills as well as creative thinking for reevaluation and improvement of processes

- Strong leadership skills, leading through a changing environment as well as risk management skills

- Able to get things accomplished through a team that does not report directly to the candidate
