Position: Financial Controller (International Trading) Job Description: The Employer: The employer is an international trading company with interests in global trading in both hard commodities and agri-commodities. The company set up its India office a few years ago and is rapidly expanding its footprint in the country. It is looking for a high calibre finance professional to join the team as: Job Code: EXP/FC/TRDG/IN/0725 Location: Delhi NCR Responsibilities Reporting to the CEO and Vice President at the global HQ, the selected candidate will direct the financial affairs of the company, including the company's financial plans and budgets, its accounting practices and internal controls, the conduct of its relationships with lending institutions, the maintenance of its fiscal records, and preparation of financial reports. General responsibilities are : Finance Operations & Compliance : - Oversee accounting, monthly closing, internal & external reporting and payments; Define workflow, coach and train finance staff; Implement Internal Control procedures and conduct periodic self assessment on sites; Submit and review monthly reconciliation reports/metrics with management. - Ensure overall tax compliance, two-way communication with tax authorities and HQ teams; Compliance with corporate accounting policies and procedures, maintenance of an effective system of internal control and overseeing compliance with those controls, continuous monitoring to ensure compliance and improve operating efficiency. Budget/P&L Management : - Coordinate and direct the preparation of budget and financial forecasts. - Lead analysis and interpretation of accounting information in order to appraise operating results in terms of profitability, performance against budget, and other matters bearing on the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of the company, driving periodical review and follow up action plan on budget/ forecast deviations. Treasury : - Maintain strong relations with the banks. Ensure cash requirements are well managed. - Bank accounts and approval procedures are robust; Cash flow forecast and management are proactively managed; Ensure AP, AR, GL operations are well managed and comply with GAAP. Others : - Manage external consultants and auditors to ensure efficient cost management and solutions; Maintain proactive engagement of respective government agencies; Act as a single point for local legal counsel engagement; Develop, maintain and update annually, all Finance related policy and procedures; Implement company policies and procedures. Requirements: Ideal candidates will have: - Graduate degree in Commerce/Accounting/Business Studies from a reputed university and CA, or equivalent professional qualification. - About 12-15 years of post-qualification work experience of which 2-3 years should be in a similar position - At least 2-3 years of hands-on experience in International Trade Finance, especially hard commodities. - Exposure to global trade in minerals, ores, coal, ferrous/non-ferrous metal preferred - Strong organizational, leadership and people-management skills. - Fluency in English. Strong communication and presentation skills. - Detail driven, analytical, very high integrity level, business savvy.
