Financial Controller - Family Office - CA (5-10 yrs)
A reputed business family is seeking a Financial Controller for their Family Office based in Mumbai (office at Lower Parel).
The Controller will be responsible for all accounting and financial needs including audit and taxation, regulatory & financial reporting requirements for the Family Office entities which includes the family individuals, charitable entities, trusts, private limited companies, closely held partnerships, LLPs and other entities.
The Controller would be a key associate working closely with the family members, investment committee/team and external advisors. The Family Office seeks a professional that has long a long-term career horizon and someone that would enjoy being part of a collaborative close knit working and management role and environment. Honesty and integrity are non-negotiable required values.
The responsibilities of this role will be broad and varied and include but not restricted to:
- Overall responsibility for the entire accounts, tax and compliance of the family office, which includes accurate recording of books of accounts, timely audit and tax optimization, calculation and filing across entities.
- Researching any accounting/tax issues that arise from investment transactions either domestically or global. Collaboration with tax professionals for any complex matters and advice.
- Design, implement and monitor controls over accounting and operations/service team including for banking operations.
- Working closely with family members in overall coordination, implementation and maintenance of trust and estate planning documents and procedures.
- Working closely with the investment committee/team for the:
Development of the Investment Policy Statement for the family office
Maintenance of systems for capturing and tracking of overall investment details across asset classes
Build and develop very strong internal reporting and performance tracking measures
Assist in the completion of various legal and regulatory documents, processes, due diligence for enabling new investments
- Responsible for monitoring of cash position and requirements for liquidity for personal expenditures and investment and cash flow needs.
- Any other roles and duties necessary for the management and value creation of the family office in line with the vision, policies and value system of the Family Office.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Qualified Chartered Accountant would be preferred. Minimum 5+ years of relevant professional experience in a family office / high-net-worth tax and investment accounting/audit firm.
