Financial Analyst - Renewable Energy Sector (2-5 yrs)

Financial Analyst - Will Handle Multiple Geographies


Key Responsibilities:

- Support Business development, M&A and financing activities and investment actions in Asia, Africa and other geographies by developing transaction/bid specific financial models and enhancing the existing financial models

- Assist in strategic initiatives and critical decisions through appropriate sensitivity and scenario analysis and identifying levers for greater value creation in the model

- Update financial models during corporate performance reviews and following corporate actions

- Create new financial models and maintain existing ones and develop processes and tools to monitor and analyse model performance and result accuracy through appropriate testing

- Support financing of under-construction/backlog projects through active involvement in preparation of marketing material for financiers, due-diligence, documentation and compliance of disbursement requirements

- Assist in execution of transactions including smooth completion of due diligence processes

Key Competencies

- Excellent MS Excel skills including strong working knowledge of formulas, macros and VBA

- Knowledge of accounting, valuation and project financing concepts such as Net Present Value (NPV), Discounted Cashflow (DCF), levered/unlevered Internal Rate of Return (IRR), Debt Service Coverage Ratio (DSCR), Interest During Construction (IDC), capital structure components (equity/sub-debt/sr-debt) and associated cash waterfall; Levellised Cost of Electricity (LCoE)

- Problem solving ability to devise new approach for incorporating variations in tax calculation and depreciation methodologies, revenue and cost structures , distributions to shareholders and other relevant differences into existing models

- Good command over MS Office tools such as MS Word and PowerPoint etc.

- Use of databases such as Reuters

- Strong communication skills

Desired Experience:

- MBA or CA with 2-3 years of post-qualification experience in end to end financial modelling.

- Work experience with M&A advisory firms, boutique investment banks or consulting firms

- Knowledge of infrastructure projects would be preferred with the knowledge of renewable energy sector being a strong advantage
