Finance Manager - Education

About the organisation : 

We are a social enterprise based in Mumbai which aims to empower India by making excellent education accessible and affordable to every child. We operate our own schools, and also partner with other affordable private schools to improve learning outcomes in their school.

Accountabilities :

Accounting & Financial Reporting :

1. To handle and oversee core accounting leading a team of 3 members 

2. to be familiar with all tax related matters

3. Receivables Management - Order to cash including accounting of all collections

4. Expenses control at branches

5. Drawing SOPs for ensuring checks and controls in processes and oversee their adherence

6. Expenses Accounting through Imprest & Cash

7. Ensure robust cost centre wise accounting and analysis of unit/zone wise profitability

8. Invoicing / Checking of PO / DO documents and ensuring completeness of the overall invoicing process

9. Statutory Compliances under all applicable Acts

10. Consistent Review mechanism to ensure adequate internal control is implemented & educating team members

Audit - Statutory & Tax :

- Preparation & Review of Audit Financials & Schedules as Ind-AS

- Resolving audit queries, followup for pending information with Finance, Legal, Tax, Solutions, Supply, Sales, etc

- Co-ordination with auditors, Review & finalization of schedules, notes to accounts

- Support the team in submission of Final Audit Report to Legal & necessary stakeholders

- Liaison with consultants for driving closure of company secretary matters

Qualifications & Technical competencies required :

Education : PG - CA / CA Inter / M.Com

Experience :

- 2-4 years of experience in Accounting and Financial Reporting

Technical competencies :

- Sound accounting background, knowledge of Direct & Indirect Tax, Receivable Management, Accounts Payable Management

Behavioural Competencies :

Compensation :

Rs. 10,00,000 to Rs. 12,00,000 per annum based on experience and skills
