Finance Controller - Startup - CA

Job Description :

- Oversee the company's finances, providing leadership and coordination in financial reporting, treasury management, accounting, and compliance

- Be a key part of the senior team, working closely with the CEO and senior leadership

- Take responsibility for funding documentation, diligence, and related financial coordination

- Financial management includes corporate accounting, audit, due diligence, corporate governance, regulatory and financial reporting, MIS, investor packs, budget and forecast preparation, taxation, and the development of internal control policies and procedures.

- Manage all accounting operations including Revenue Recognition, Fixed Assets, Accounts Receivables and Payables, Taxation, Payroll, etc.

- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls

- Support month-end and year-end close process and publish timely financial statements and get them audited/due diligence

- Develop and manage all the internal as well as external reporting including investor reporting, management reporting, and statutory reporting

- Coordinate the set of processes and research technical accounting issues for compliance

- Ensure compliance with local, state, and central government reporting and tax requirements

- Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances

- Maintain relationships with suppliers for payments, credit terms, etc.

- Liaise with auditors for conduct statutory and tax audits, prepare disclosures and workings for notes to the financial statements

- Resolve audit observations, provide and conduct reconciliations and audit compliances and ensure a no observation audit

- Maintain liquidity planner, project liquidity requirements, and ensure liquidity for financing business requirements

- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls

- Treasury - review available liquid funds and plan investments in alternate sources and review liquidity availability when needed

- Control tax law compliances, what taxes and levies are applicable in which scenarios, and determine the way forward

- Review avenues of technical accounting and interpretation and guide the team on accounting actions and prepare accounting memos for file

- Business model is evolving and so is a relationship with suppliers- payments, credit terms, etc. which contributes to challenging work requiring constant thinking around new business evolution and execution to expansion.

- Assist in the preparation of IFRS financials, and due diligence requests and respond when needed

- Assist FP&A with business factual information on revenues and costs to make better projections

- Create a compliances framework across taxation, labor laws, audits, and other compliances as may apply to the business

- Statutory compliances - DT, IDT, RBI, ROC, FEMA, Exports & Imports, Start-up compliances if any,

Qualifications:

- A CA between 8 to 10 years of overall combined accounting and finance experience in either a manufacturing MNC, ITes, or a start-up.

- Big 4 experience would be an edge.

- Ability to effectively manage the finances of a high-growth business in areas of accounting, taxation, audits, compliance, and governance.

- Quick turnaround time

- Experience in creating, handling, and managing teams

- Good excel and computing skills

- Very good interpersonal skills to be able to nurture and maintain good working relations

- Ability to work in a fast-paced organizations

- Fund Raise/Due Diligence Exposure

- Experience of working in top e-commerce/Start-up.

- IT and Healthtech experience will be added advantage
