Finance Controller - Retail

Position Summary:

Chief Financial Officer will be responsible for entire the Finance & Accounts function including procurement management, taxation, banking, audits, controls, reporting, statutory and compliance, capex, IT and project controls, business planning / budgeting, decision support in leading growth of the business across India. Candidate should have experience in growing retail operations and should have handled branch operations / multi location accounts.

Principal Accountabilities: 

- Oversee and maintain day-to-day control of accounting systems to ensure the accurate posting / recording of the financial transactions and processing of financial data in accordance with internal procedures and complying with statutory laws, regulations and accounting standards.

- Review and verify the accuracy of the journal entries and accounting classifications or codes guides and solves any problems / discrepancies in consultation with other depts.

- Participate in the formulation and implementation of the accounting policies / strategies / procedures & implementing the decisions in the department.

- Setup and manage cost effective centralized procurement process for key RM & be accountable for the procurement controls at unit level.

- Set up and regularly review internal control systems and brings about revisions / improvements whenever necessary and consistent implementation across all assets

- Generate MIS and other investor reporting requirements to meet the requirements for facilitating management decisions

- Support CEO and business heads in decision making on various transactions.

- Ensure smooth co-ordination with the internal, statutory and tax auditors.

- Ensure compliance of all statutory provisions under direct / indirect taxes, Labour, municipal other statutory bodies, handling of legal documentation and secretarial records

- Oversee drawing of financial statements in compliance with accounting standards at each entity level and consolidated level

- Budget preparations and monitoring /controls to drive profitability of the company as per business plans

- Will need to build the finance function team which is currently outsourced. He could add 2-3 people in his team overtime.
