Finance Controller - Pharma/Healthcare - APAC Region

The APAC Controller will play a key part in the accounting function in the APAC region. Specifically, this dynamic role offers a challenging and exciting opportunity to provide regional accounting and fiduciary control and participate and implement corporate finance transformation projects for India and some other countries in the region. In addition, he/she also will identify opportunities for performance improvements and support the resulting change initiatives.

Roles & Responsibility:

- Responsible for completion of accurate and timely monthly financial close for India and the countries and reporting to Carestream Dental

- Will ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and IFRS, enforce company accounting policies, practices and internal controls, and ensure consistency in accounting on a worldwide basis

- Coordinate completion of account reconciliations, including liaising with the Shared Service Center

- Perform a monthly review of the income statement and balance sheet

- Prepare balance sheet forecasts

- Areas of focus will include various technical accounting items, including revenue recognition, tax accounting and the establishment of judgmental accruals

- Review contracts to ensure proper accounting

- Responsible for an early warning system (watchlist) that provides timely reporting of significant risks and issues

- Develop and implement continuous improvement, in cooperation with global process change management that focuses on improving quality, productivity and customer satisfaction. Ensure team is 100% Quality Advocate Training (QAT) certified, demonstrating quality skills and tools

- Proactively monitor and operate a robust internal control environment in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley and company policies

- Understand the nature of issues that are likely to impact the monthly/quarterly close and plan to resolve prior to the closing deadline

- Ensures all internal and external filing deadlines are met to ensure a timely Corporate consolidation and local statutory deadlines are met

- Will be the key regional liaison with the internal and external auditors

- Collaborate with the other finance department managers to support overall department goals and objectives

- Work closely with the Corporate Corporate and Regional Controller's Group and interface with the local management to provide technical, operational and other support on an as-needed basis.
