Finance Controller - Cost Accounting - Pharmaceutical - CA (4-10 yrs)

Position Overview :

The Controller will oversee all accounting related functions to maintain effective accounting and reporting systems. The primary focus of the role is to ensure complete, accurate and timely closing of the monthly and quarterly books and also successful completion of external audits. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, month-end process oversight, financial reporting, budgeting, commissions and royalties functions, revenue reporting, and fixed assets accounting. Works to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the company's accounting systems, general internal controls and information reporting to meet company standards. Provides accounting support, as needed, for various operational initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

- Run monthly accounting close to ensure that all transactions are booked properly and all reconciliations are completed;

- Create and manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts;

- Calculate and issue financial and operating metrics;

- Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to senior management;

- Issue timely and complete financial statements;

- Recommend benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operations;

- Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures;

- Oversees the operations of the accounting department, including day-to-day activities, month end close process, and independent auditor quarterly reviews and annual audits

- Manages the overall design of an adequate organizational structure for achieving department goals and objectives;

- Creation and maintenance of the chart of accounts;

- Maintain an orderly accounting filing system;

- Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions;

- Manage accounting staff to ensure that accounts payable are paid in a timely manner;

- Manage the Accounts Receivable team to ensure that accounts receivable are collected promptly;

- Process payroll and employee expense reimbursement in a timely manner;

- Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings;

- Assists with treasury management and cash management;

- Coordinate and perform special projects as needed and perform other duties as assigned.

Education : Chartered Accountant (CA) Qualified
