Title: Director Technology Development

Reports To: VP R&D in the USA

Industry: Water Purification

Location: Bangalore

Marmon is a major supplier of water purification products and system solutions worldwide. We are creating a new team to develop advanced solutions in control electronics, sensors, monitoring and analysis. This group will be entrepreneurial driven, fast paced and advanced technology focused.

The Director of Technology Development is self-starter capable of creating and managing a team of high-achievement researchers and developers with skills in sensors, electronics, IoT and related cloud and software apps. The candidate must be a hands on developer in his own right and engage with his team in creating cutting edge solutions in consumer facing products that are both elegant and cost efficient. He will be familiar with Agile development techniques and manage the group as a connected team, focused on staged development sprints and intermediate prototypes. The ideal candidate will also have experience with startup development projects and/or startup companies where the work environment is fast paced and engaging.

The candidate should also be well networked and actively involved in the technology communities that can contribute to the company's goals in advanced water technology automation.

Responsibilities:

- Analyze, design, develop and debug, in collaboration with a sister development team in the USA, new products used in industrial and consumer water purification markets.

- Provide direct and ongoing leadership for a team of individual contributors designing and developing new products, enhancements and updates, in addition to coordinating project development.

- Manage headcount, deliverables, schedules, and costs for multiple ongoing projects, ensuring that resources are appropriately allocated and that goals, objectives, timelines, and budgets are met in accordance with program and organizational roadmaps.

- Communicate project status and escalates issues to direct managers, program managers, and internal and external development partners on a timely and collaborative basis.

- Manage relationships with outsourced partners and suppliers, including setting expectations regarding deliverables, product quality, schedules, and costs; ensures that team members are effectively communicating and collaborating with outsourced resources.

- Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reductions.

- Provide people-care management for assigned team members, including hiring, setting and monitoring of annual performance plans, coaching, and career development; ensures that proper knowledge and career development tools are in place to support ongoing team member and process development.

- Preparation of weekly dashboard and review with management.

Qualifications:

- A proven track record of accomplishments with a minimum fifteen (15+) years of experience in technology development encompassing electromechanical equipment, sensors, IoT and related Apps.

- Minimum experience of 5-years as a manager of a significant development group.

- Minimum of a Master's Degree (MS) in Electrical and/or software engineering.

- Experience in architecting and leading technology development for consumer facing products in the global market.

- A proficient problem-solver who envisions business and technical perspectives in developing workable solutions.

- Experience with multiple software platforms including advanced CAD, Electronic Design Automation (EDA), cloud front and back-end development software and related web-based and mobile-based UIs.

- Proven track record in coordinating development between research teams in more than one location.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills and presentation skills - including English.

- Entrepreneurial / innovative mind-set, with interest in growing a brand and organization.

- Should be energetic, forward-thinking and creative, with high ethical standards and appropriate professional image.
