1) Daily inspection (walk around audit) of site, Identification of hazards and highlighting these hazards by making observation note and take corrective/preventive action as per the severity of the hazard

2) Ensuring functioning of fire fighting and detection system

3) Conducting regular fire fighting training for all employees

4) Maintaining all safety related records and SOPs for any external audit

5) Conducting emergency evacuation drill and taking necessary corrective actions against the deficiencies observed.

6) Preparing SHE manual and onsite emergency plan

7) Ensure compliance with safety systems and develop and formulate improvements on continuous basis.

8) Ensure effective FIRE PREVENTION through proactive identification and development of counter measures to potential fire prone situations

9) Promote measures to reduce and progressively eliminate accidents on ongoing basis.

10) Conduct Environment related aspect & impact studies towards movement on to a certified SHE system/ ISO 14000

11) Organize and lead Training programmes relating to Safety, Fire, Environmental awareness & Emergency preparedness to inculcate safety behavior and increased awareness levels among all associates.

12) Conduct Risk analysis & formulate safety norms / measures to mitigate the consequences thereof.

13) Carry out regular SHE Audit of all work areas and take proactive corrective and preventive actions.

14) Prepare SHE monthly report and present it in the monthly ORMs.

15) To implement all the guidelines of SHE / Factories Act

16) Investigating all the accidents including near misses and submit the reports with the root cause analysis to the management and also ensure that preventive measures are implemented.

17) Observe unsafe actions & unsafe work practices in day to day activities & advice all concerned to rectify the same to avoid personal injuries.

18) To implement various safety systems like work permit system, LOTO system, accident investigation procedure etc.

19) To organize Safety, Health and Environment committee meetings & to facilitate the committee so that Environment, Health & Safety aspects can be improved. Record the minutes of meeting and taking necessary follow up to close the points.

20) To create environment & safety awareness among employees by campaign, competitions, contests & other activities which will develop & maintain the interest of the employees in establishing & maintaining safe working conditions.

21) Advice in Purchase, Issuing & Regular use of PPEs in day to day work.

22) Compliance and Maintenance of Records as per ISO 14000 & OHSAS 18000 requirements.

23) Conducting SHE Induction for new employees.

24) Implementing safety procedures for different jobs i.e. Hot work, confined space, work at height, lifting operations, fire precautions, hand tools and housekeeping etc.

25) To generate the Safety Awareness in Plant through display the Safety Posters and sign boards etc.,

26) Ensure that MSDS are available for all hazardous material being used in the plant.

27) Regular checking of the various safety system of the plant and maintain records as per statutory requirements.

28) Maintain accident related statistics like Near Misses, First Aid Cases, Restricted Work Cases, Lost Time Accidents and Fatal Accidents etc.,

29) Define the accident reporting system
