Software Engineering - Vice President FICO's India operation employs nearly 1,200 colleagues across Product Development, Analytics, Implementation Services, and Cloud Operations, teams. It works in close collaboration with counterparts across our other offices across the globe. This operation, comprising more than one-quarter of FICO's overall workforce, is critical to the company's success, being integral to our product development, on-boarding, and service delivery roadmap. Position Summary : - This executive leadership role, directly and indirectly, oversees 400-member Software Product Development team members focused on enterprise-wide software products and tools leveraging SaaS and associated contemporary technologies. - The role has two dimensions. First, you will have direct responsibility for leading a major development team building one of FICO's key product lines, the specifics of which will be a function of the expertise areas you bring to the organization against the needs of our product roadmap. - And second, you will provide overall Bangalore Product Development site leadership in collaboration with local and US-based team managers across multiple solution areas within a matrix organizational structure. Major Responsibilities : - Provides strong hands-on management of one or more major product development teams. - Manages product development lifecycle (owns full development responsibility for and lead new initiatives for assigned products) and ensures stability, compatibility, scalability, interoperability, and performance of our software products. - Leverages matrix-style leadership in partnership with managers of other Bangalore-based development teams to observe and influence decisions in order to yield high quality, timeline outcomes. - Drives the achievement of product development milestones by avoiding or solving complex problems by harnessing expertise across multiple technologies (Big Data, Java/J2EE, Python, R, Analytics, ML, etc.). - Ensures adherence to high quality talent pipelining and selection processes across development teams. - Partners with relevant stakeholders to attract talent, set goals, measure, and reward performance. - Builds and maintains a healthy and productive culture founded on adherence to our corporate values, timely and accurate workforce communications, activities focused on building morale, camaraderie, and teamwork. - Engages in business travel as required, including to our key product centers of excellence in the US. Ideal Experience : - 15+ years of experience in enterprise software product development in a global organization, with hands-on development experience in Java/J2EE, Big Data, Cloud technologies, Analytics, R, Python, ML, etc., and involving complex software solutions that have been successfully delivered to customers. - Strong experience in leading geographically distributed development teams and expertise in managing high performing team(s), with a track record of getting things done - on budget and on schedule. - Knowledge of best practices for the full software development life cycle including coding standards, secure code coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations. - Working knowledge of the Financial Services Industry. - Excellent communication, analytical and creative problem-solving skills; ability to articulate the design walkthrough with architects and discuss strategy/requirements with teams. - Ability to work effectively under pressure, multitask, prioritize and show initiative in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines. - Bachelor's/Master's in Computer Science or related disciplines.
