General Summary :

The Data Architect will be responsible for designing, optimizing an Enterprise Data Warehouse, reporting, Business Intelligence and Analytics platform from various data sources that will be used by both internal and external customers. The position is responsible for setting strategy and vision for organizations data framework and provide Technical architecture guidance

Primary Responsibilities:

- Collaborate with different stakeholders, vendors and management to develop a data strategy

- Design the vision and blueprint of organization's data

- Works to consolidate data from disparate data sources

- Works to continuously improve data quality, data consistency and data security

- Identify and implement policies to govern data

- Explain complex concepts in simple terms

- Build data models for database structures, analytics and AI applications

- Design, document, build and implement database architectures and applications

- Should be able to guide and mentor data engineers

- Prepare and present reports for management and other departments by analyzing and interpreting data

- Review existing data architectures to determine overall effectiveness and compliance with original objectives, develop comprehensive strategies for improving or replacing underperforming areas and present these plans to managers and executives

- Understands data landscape and environments: sources, elements, update freq, completeness, stewards/contacts, platforms

- Full development and data management lifecycle. Use programming and tools for data ingestion, configure pipelines, and apply transformations

- Build and support ETL infrastructure to deliver clean and reliable data to the organization.

- Support the development of new products and services via ingestion, processing, and formatting data for reporting and analytics.

- Responsible for data architecture including sources, table structures, physical models

- Optimize database architecture by trading off storage and computation to achieve low cost and high-performance using Oracle Cloud.

- Designs, and develops complex Tables, Views, and Stored Procedures to support FedEx Developed applications, Data Warehousing, Reporting and Business Intelligence initiatives

- Validates data products and pipelines are functioning as expected following system or application upgrades, source changes, etc.

- Work within the agile team to define solution specifications for core and edge product deliverables.

- Provide communication on solution, product enhancements and status as defined by agile team.

- Work to establish, maintain, and update strategy (methodology, processes, standards, tools, services) used in implementing supply chain systems.

- Working within an agile team to deliver work products and perform efforts to meet the needs and team objectives for successful delivery, and reliability of solution. (All aspects)..

Education/Experience :

- Bachelors Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science or Information Systems.

- Over all 10 years of IT exp

- Experience with data modeling, ETL development, data warehousing, data pipeline and data lake creation

- Experience with cloud infrastructure, data ingestion and visualization tools for Oracle Cloud, Azure, GCP (OCI Preferred)

- Experience with BI & ETL tools, Understanding and ability to convert requirements into database models and full-data pipeline systems.

- Experience with visualization and reporting tools like Spotfire, Oracle Analytics, PowerBI, EformsZ

- Experience in with SQL and ability to write complex queries

- Experience in DevOps tools such as GitLab, CI/CD Tools

- Basic understanding of and willingness to learn and adopt professional and industry standards.

- Strong collaboration skills and be a team player.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

- Experience designing a Datawarehouse from scratch

- Experience working on data lakes

- Experience working on Data migration, data modeling and data visualization

- Experience working with different data mining and modeling tools

- Experience working with different database systems

- Experience working on structured and unstructured data

- Should have an innovative and creative mindset to improve the process and automate things to reduce manual intervention

- Excellent communication and presentation skills
