Associate Vice President (Food Processing)

A Professional with minimum experience of 10 years and up to 5 years of managerial/project management experience in:

- Promotion of agro-based products and industry in Tamil Nadu/ India/ abroad.

- Areas of Food Science and/ or Food Processing Technology.

Broad Job Description:

- To address the challenges faced by the micro food processing enterprises and to upgrade and formalise the enterprises.

- To promote the production and export of food products such as banana-based products, milk-based products, poultry feed, mango, coconut-based products, turmeric, fish-based products, lemon-based products, dhal based products, bakery products, fruits and vegetables, palm-based products, millet-based products, tapioca products and cashew products.

- To support branding and market support for Food processing enterprises.

- To support the food processing enterprises by strengthening the institutions.

- To support group micro enterprises such as FPOs, producer cooperatives for SHGs.

- To promote Mega Food Parks and Agro processing clusters.

- To create integrated cold chain and value addition infrastructure.

- To create and expand food processing capabilities and creation of backward and forward linkages.

- To create food safety and quality assurance infrastructure.

- To create employment opportunities through food processing enterprises especially in the rural areas.

- To enhance the export of processed food.

- To create modern infrastructure with efficient supply chain management.

- To install quality management systems, laboratory testing equipment, testing of water, soil, pesticide residues, hormones, toxins, heavy metals etc.

- To enable the MSMEs to participate in international trade fairs, organizing buyer seller meets, exchange of trade delegations and developing packaging standards for new products and upgrading the existing standards.

- To mobilize fresh investments into the food processing sector.

- To mobilize proposals and Expression of interests from the potential promoters to set up food processing enterprises in the potential locations.

- To Identify and bridge existing infrastructure gaps affecting the food processing industry.

- Promote innovation, research & development in the industry and ensure continuous technology up gradation.

- To undertake capacity building and enhance competitiveness of food processing industry in both domestic and international markets.
