Experience:

Preferred candidates from IITs: Delhi, Kanpur, Chennai, Kharagpur, Mumbai, Roorkee and Guwahati. BITS Pilani, NITs: Surathkal, Warangal, Trichy, Delhi College of Engineering with 6 to 8 years of experience of handling factory operations independently for at least 2 yrs.

CFTRI Mysore, HBTI Kanpur, NDRI Karnal, NDRI Bangalore, Mumbai Agricultural University Parbhani, UDCT Mumbai, Jadavpur University Kolkata, VIT Vellore, Other NITs, Pune College of Engineering, SRM University Chennai, Bengal Engineering College Shibpur, RVCE Bangalore with 9 to 12 years of experience of handling factory operations independently for at least 5yrs.

Job Purpose :

- To lead and manage the factory operations within manufacturing capacity constraints and statutory requirements with the objective of ensuring delivery of production volume, highest standards of product quality, cost efficiency and safety.

Principal Accountabilities :

- Formulate strategies and drive execution towards achievement of unit objectives.

- Review the volume projections for the factory and devise the budgetary requirements. Ensure adherence towards the execution of the operational plans within the stipulated budgets and timelines.

- Lead the institutionalization of new lines / augmentation of existing lines at the unit for capacity optimization.

- Guide the team for commercial scale production of new products / manufacturing changes related to new SKUs.

- Review the execution of production plans on a regular basis and guide the team in resolving process bottlenecks.

- Ensure conformity to the laid down quality guidelines and ensure that key issues in quality are resolved in a timely way.

- Review the unit's performance against key indices like productivity, capacity utilization, quality, and prioritize the action areas to improve the metrics.

- Ensure the unit's conformity towards all statutory norms and EHS guidelines and periodically review the adherence to the laid-down standards.

- Ensure a smooth and harmonious relationship with all internal and external stakeholders - employees, statutory authorities, local government bodies, etc.

Knowledge :

- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes, productivity and quality parameters, costs, throughput etc

- Knowledge of regulatory compliance for a manufacturing plant with respect to labor, machinery, safety, infrastructure Review the overhead requirements and related cost budget (fixed and variable) prepared by respective departments at the factory

- Knowledge of commercial processes like budgeting, costing, ROI computation, IRR computation, hurdle rates etc;

- Knowledge of process improvement tools like TQM, TPM, Six sigma, Kaizen.
