EY - Senior Manager Strategy Government Advisory

The opportunity :


EY's Government - Strategy team leverages global best practice methodologies to provide customized economic, policy, operations, performance, competitiveness, growth, and management strategies to Governments and public sector corporations. The team also advises across the investment climate value chain right from strategy/ vision policy development, simplification of procedures, investment attraction, and grounding.

The incumbent will be responsible to support the growth agenda of the India Government & Public Sector for EY India. This multi-faceted role will work closely with and report to the India Government & Public Sector Leader. The incumbent would be a leader who will coordinate and drive firm-wide and external initiatives in the sector.

Your key responsibilities :

- Work across various topics of strategic interest in the Government & Public sector. This would require the incumbent to stay abreast of key trends shaping the sector, strategic issues and challenges, quarterly industry performance, analysts' views, and competitive intelligence

- Assist the Sector Leader in developing/shaping points of view through the publication of thought leadership, solution development, marketing material and social/print media posts and articles. This will require the role to possess a thorough research-oriented mindset, conduct fact-based analyses and present his/her findings in an insightful and succinct manner

- Drive key account reviews and uncover gaps in service delivery by mapping existing fields of play across clients and assessing competitive footprint. Recommend new solutions that should be taken to clients based on emerging trends

- Weekly updates to Government & Public sector on sector performance metrics, including key wins, losses, and pursuit pipeline. Quarterly meetings with the Government & Public sector team to discuss performance and shape large, transformational deals. Annual meeting to drive business planning for the following year

- Monthly engagement with India Government-centric centre coordinator to contribute towards new solutions under development, infuse India participation in global thought leadership, and leverage marquee proposals/wins for sharing trends and insights with India tech sector

- Network with internal and external stakeholders, industry professionals and be on top of the sector performance in India and globally and bring insights and perspectives which can help shape EY's response to address the challenges of the sector

- Assist in preparing insightful briefing notes, backed with fact-based sources for client and/or leadership meetings. For this, the incumbent would need to be agile, responsive and resourceful in gathering quick and useful materials, often in a short timeframe Key trait

- Excellent project management, analytical and structural skills

- Excellent Team management and capability to manage tight timelines.

- Self-driven; highly ambitious and able to take initiative and deliver results with minimal supervision - Excellent verbal, written, and power-point skills

To qualify for the role you must have :

- Post graduate degree (preferably MBA from a premier institute) with a good academic background

- Minimum 8 years of relevant post-qualification experience that could include benchmarking, policy research or formulation, investment promotion, ease of doing business, economic climate reforms, project management, strategy consulting or investment banking. Experience in single window system development, functional requirements, and business transformation will be a plus.

Ideally, you'll also have

- Ability and willingness to travel, as needed on long term assignments across the country

- Excellent communication, facilitation, relationship-building, presentation, and negotiation skills.

- Be highly flexible, adaptable, and creative.
