GDS SaT Lead Advisory

GDS LA team under the SaT umbrella provides assistance to EY member firms on Lead Advisory engagements. The LA Team hires people who have a post-graduate degree in MBA Finance or are Chartered Accountants with past experience in corporate finance or Equity research. The GDS LA team came into existence in July 2010, working closely with EY UK teams in supporting projects from Mergers & Acquisitions and Private Equity teams primarily. The Team would also cater to the UK teams in Capital & Debt Advisory, Transaction Real Estate and Project Finance. GDS LA team is assisting in a range of activities from pre-deal to transaction execution viz. preparation of pre-sales material like market intelligence, opportunity papers, industry and company research, proposal support, pitch books, transaction screening, transaction valuation etc.

Job description: Primary Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

- As a member of the sector practice at GDS Lead Advisory, the person would be providing

- Transaction Advisory services to Global TAS leaders

- Responsible for leading client interactions, delivery, and relationship building with TAS Global Sector leaders Transaction Advisory Services - GDS Role Description: This role profile is intended as a guide to reflect only the principal functions of the role. - Work across the entire M&A deal lifecycle from deal origination to closure, including transaction, screening, proposals, pitch books, industry research, precedent transactions and comparative valuation analysis, opportunity papers, Information Memorandums, Financial model etc.

- Manage a team of 8-10 people

- Measure, monitor and improve client service by closely collaborating with the client and guiding

- team members and driving excellence in service delivery

- Focus teams on the key priorities while working on and managing several medium-size projects

- Ensure smooth service delivery within the defined geographical area

- Ensure that team members deliver quality service as per client's needs and priorities

- Partner with internal and external clients to improve processes

- Work with project leaders to analyze resource needs and gaps across locations, and devise

- alternative ways forward

- Assign people to projects based on their skills, career goals and client's expectations

- Provide team members with accurate and useful guidance in technical areas of high risk and complexity

- Act as a counselor for team members

- Participate in goal setting, performance appraisal and management of counselees

- Identify L&D requirements of counselees

- Travel on assignments abroad, as required

Responsibilities, Qualifications, Certifications - External Competencies / skills:

- Strong exposure working in a Transaction (M&A) Advisory or Corporate Finance environment

- Strong research experience preferably in Real Estate sector in a M&A or Equity research environment

- Expertise in preparing Pitch books, Industry research, Company research, Opportunity Papers, Information Memorandums and financial models

- Have good knowledge of valuations principles and financial statements analysis

- Strong financial research and analytical skills

- Good communication skills - both written and verbal

- Have good knowledge of research databases like Capital IQ, Factset, One Source, Factiva, Reuters,etc.

- Be proficient to search/source right information from relevant sources

- Perform QC reviews and ensure that the output delivered is of utmost quality

- Coach and mentor team members on technical skills and soft skills

- Manage communication with the on-site teams, and provide thought leadership ideas on scope of work - Have preferably conducted domain-specific training sessions for team members

- Manage own time to budgets and communicate progress against plan

- Act as a counselor for four-five team members (CAs and MBAs)

- Participate in goal-setting, performance appraisal and management of counselees

- Actively promote the sharing of knowledge within the group

- Be organized and structured in the completion of tasks

- Contribute pro-actively to building team spirit

- MBA/PG Diploma (Fin) or Post Graduate Diploma in Finance or CFA - Level 3 passed or CA with 9 to 16 yrs relevant experience
