The opportunity

The Reporting and Analytics (R&A) delivers key management and financial reporting across the firm. The successful applicant will work within the R&A's 'Data Management& infrastructure' (DMI) team which maintains the reporting warehouse and associated processes. Activities range from writing SQL stored procedures for processes and reports, to implementing changes in the design and architecture of our data warehouse. The DMI team has an important role working with and supporting the R&A report development team.

Your key responsibilities

- Configure and maintain database servers and processes in liaison with IT teams

- Oversee the regular data update processes, including weekend cover on rotating basis. Ensure regular data processing for periodical updates to the MIS systems.

- Monitor Database health and performance and analyse and fine tuning of processes/SQL coding. Assist developers with query tuning and schema refinement

- Ensure high levels of performance, availability, sustainability and security

- Analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time. Provide suggestions for solutions

- Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes

- Create SSIS packages: Develop, maintain, schedule. Develop reports for the business team as well as for administrative purposes

- Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours

- Knowledge share and training;

- Advice other developers on how to write more efficient code

- Develop concepts to improve the quality of code used in the data warehouse

- Drive implementation of a training curriculum for R&A delivery team on various, database-related topics

To qualify for the role, you must have

- Proficient in SQL/SSRS, Power BI

- A graduate degree

- 5+ years' experience with Microsoft SQL server 2008,2012 or later

- Knowledge of Performance Tuning Techniques.

- Experience in designing and maintaining large databases

- Experience in reading execution plans and optimizing queries

- Strong experience and expertise implementing reporting solutions and designing data models and flows

- In-depth experience with SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services)

- Advanced SSRS experience (SQL Server Reporting Services)

- Experience working with IT and playing the role of the middle person between the business and IT

- Ability to understand existing SQL code to determine business logic

- Knowledge of MS Office tools

- Strong experience with reporting concepts and tasks (operational or functionally), reporting tools/technology as well as preparing and presenting information to other users in different formats
