EY - Reporting & Analytics Centre of Excellence - Enablement Decision Sciences (EDS) - Business Intelligence Supervising Associate / Senior Associate

We are a team of 150+ Data Scientists, Engineers and Analysts. We provide Descriptive, Diagnostic, Predictive and Prescriptive Analytics services to various Enablement functions in EY. We also support key CBS functions including Finance, Talent, Procurement, Brand, Marketing and Communications, EY Technology, EY Knowledge and Global Markets.

EDS can help you:

- Assess expenses and predict spending trends

- Improve budget allocation to optimize return on investment

- Predict and understand employee turnover

- Better understand your internal clients, teams and colleagues

- Forecast revenue, and more

While our Business Intelligence team looks at extracting, storing and integrating the information from multiple sources and deriving meaningful insights using high end visualizations and dashboards, the Data Science team applies advanced data science techniques to predict future trends. Together, we enable our users to not only derive insights from the information they hold but also to use these to their best advantage.

The opportunity:

We're looking for Supervising and Senior Associates who will collaborate with business, reporting, and other teams to understand business requirements and perform data analysis. Get involved and Lead in project transitions from different teams, do enhancements and modification post transition when needed. You will work in more than one project with back end data architects and systems engineers to construct data objects necessary for supporting business requirements. You will also apply specialized knowledge to support the organization's vision and direction, serving as your team's subject matter expert.

Your key responsibilities:

- Design, build and operationalize large scale enterprise data solutions and applications using one or more of Azure data and analytics services in combination with 3rd parties - ADF, ADB, Spark, EMR, DynamoDB, RedShift, Kinesis, Lambda, Glue, Snowflake etc.

- Analyze, re-architect and re-platform on-premise data warehouses to data platforms on Azure cloud using Azure tech stack or 3rd party services.

- Well versed with SQL, SSMS, and other on premise MSBI stack

- Design and build production data pipelines from ingestion to consumption within a cloud hosted datawarehouse using Java, Python, Scala etc.

- Exposure or understanding to Big Data technology with windows Azure data lake concepts is a plus.

- Create SSIS/SQL packages to extract, transfer and load data, supporting, troubleshooting existing ETL processes.

- Design and implement data engineering, ingestion and curation functions on Azure cloud using Azure native tech stacks like ADB, ADF, Python etc or custom programming.

- Good knowledge of JDBC, XML and Web Services APIs is a plus.

- Ability to analyse large sets of data and determine patterns and rules for organizing and Prepare Visualization dashboards using Power BI or any other visualization tools.

- Perform detail assessments of current state data platforms and create an appropriate transition path to Azure cloud.

- Analyse and create complex SQL and SSIS packages as needed to support new and evolving data integration projects and data extracts needed for further processing in Data Analytics.

- Design and support database and table structures for new and evolving sources of data.

- Coordinate development of ETL/data warehouse best practices needed to support new and evolving sources of data used in reporting, transaction processing and Analytics.

- Perform extensive and detailed data analysis necessary to ensure strict adherence to data quality.

- Participate in production support and code deployment outside of regular business hours.

- Take on end-to-end ownership and perform different roles within analysis and development phases.

- Set and manage expectations with clients while providing proactive communication and status updates; prioritize deliverables with client/requestor and follow/implement change control and release management processes.

- Adhere to general work requirements and perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and attributes for success :

- Presentation skills necessary to effectively communicate, update, persuade, and facilitate discussions with all levels of management.

- Interpersonal skills necessary to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, other business areas as required.

- Planning and organizational skills necessary to coordinate workload around multiple assignments.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills.

- Ability to reverse-engineer existing SQL code to determine business logic and create source-to-target mapping documents.

- Advanced working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation software, email, and specialized business applications necessary for Visualization.

- Experience using data warehouse with underlying SQL databases and analytical tools for business purposes.

- Ability to read and interpret complex reports and documents.

- Ability to assimilate and interpret various sources of data, as well as to provide and make decisions on recommendations to executive management to solve highly complex problems from start to finish.

To qualify for the role, you must have :

- More than 5 years of experience advanced knowledge as a data analyst with expertise in Windows Azure tech stack and SQL Server 2005/2008/2012 T-SQL /SSIS developer /ETL Developer.

- More than 2 years of working knowledge in Power BI Visualization tool as preference.

- Bachelors or above degree as academic qualification.

- Certification in equivalent field is a plus

Proficiency Expected :

- Researches key industry publications and other sources of information to identify trends and issues in technology

- Researches and summarizes organizational implications associated with major technology trends

- Describes expected benefits of effective organizational IT policies, standards and procedures

- Identifies current initiatives to address key issues related to organizational IT policies, standards and procedures
