EY - Delivery Lead - Tax Technology Domain (10-18 yrs)

Be part of a new, trending solution of EY - called - Tax and Finance Operate- - TFO. TFO is an offering that involves going beyond the usual job profile of a tax consultant and taking on the larger role of a tax function of the company.

The opportunity - 

As part of TFO, EY would take over, transform and operate the tax function of the company - EY would not only perform routine tax compliance, litigation and advisory services, but would also play the role currently performed by tax teams in companies (ie dealing with business teams, external consultants, internal reporting, data management, process improvement, etc).

Your key responsibilities - 

Your role would involve ensuring that high quality service is delivered to the client. This would involve transitioning and transforming processes, compliances, knowledge, data, etc from the client, and thereafter lead the services from EY on day to day basis with support from team.

Towards this, you would have the following responsibilities - 

- Leading and overseeing the team which delivers the TFO engagement

- Ensuring streamlined operating tax processes, building best practices, implementing best in class delivery, leveraging standard processes with right skill for right job and identifying need for and infusing technology/ automation where required. All the above would be focused on engagement margin and quality improvisation

- Monitoring and meeting engagement KPIs set by the client for EY (such as achieving tax saving, tax process improvement, 100% tax compliance, etc)

- Organizing and engaging in discussions/ meetings with the client (at higher levels)

- Resolving client issues and concerns in a timely manner

- Leveraging EY experience to ensure best practices are implemented while operating the tax function

- Co-ordinating with various specialist teams within the Practice to deliver outcomes to client

- Taking part in strategic and tactical portions of service delivery (such as decisions on litigation strategy, change management, new legislation implementation, etc)

Skills and attributes for success

The job requires a problem identification and solving approach, a constant focus on improvisation, perseverance to succeed in building a high performing tax function. The role also requires the following attributes:

- Team player

- Experience in process design and implementation

- People interaction

- Client management skills

- Large project delivery

- Highly adaptive

- Basic understanding of tax and finance domain

- Strong analytical ability, logical and problem solving skills

- Resourceful and hands-on with new initiatives

- Proficiency with common ERPs, eg SAP, Oracle, Tally

To qualify for the role you must have

- A qualified Chartered Accountant / MBA

- 9 - 12 years of post-qualification tax experience

- Experience in both Consulting and Industry (while specialization may be in any field of tax, the role will require some exposure across direct tax, indirect tax and Transfer Pricing)

Ideally you should have

- Excellent communication skills [written and oral]

- Be highly flexible, adaptable, and creative

- Comfortable interacting with senior executives (within the firm and at the client)

- Strong leadership skills and supervisory responsibility
