EY - Associate Vice President - Lead Advisory Team - Transaction Advisory Services Practice (4-7 yrs)

The Lead Advisory team is a business unit within the Transaction Advisory Services practice. This LA partners with its clients to identify the best opportunities and assists them in choosing and consummating the right transactions for their business success. With a dedicated team of professionals in our Lead Advisory business, we offer comprehensive and integrated solutions to our clients, and assist them in aligning their transaction and business strategy to drive shareholder value and stay ahead of competition.

This team provides specialist lead advisory services on the following:

- Mergers & acquisitions

- Divestitures

- Privatizations

- Joint Ventures/Strategic Alliances

- Capital raising

- Capital Markets

- Corporate Restructuring.

The opportunity - EY is looking for Associate Vice President in the Lead Advisory team.

Your key responsibilities : 

Client Management : 

- Lead role in execution of client service

- Independently lead development of the information memorandum, Financial model and due diligence

- Support the partner in deal negotiations and on the finalization of the commercial aspects of the definitive

Industry Knowledge : 

- Deep knowledge of the IT service/BPM/Software industry trends and business models

- Deep knowledge of player landscape, strategies and key differentiations-including valuation drivers

- Comprehensive understanding of the deal activity

Networking & Marketing : 

- Create and manage good independent relationships with clients

- Comprehensive mapping of the Industry players and PE/ VC investors in the Tech segment.

- Independently lead preparation of the pitches

- Expand opportunities with existing clients, identify and act on referrals typically in relation to his service line

- Build broad networks within the firm locally and internationally

- Lead and coordinate the planning and management of assignments, with guidance from the Partner

Risk Management : 

- Ensure compliance with risk management strategies, plans and activities

- Handle straightforward risk management issues.

- Takes on progressively greater risk management responsibility for high risk issues

- Is able to proactively resolve (with Partner support) risk issues in delivering service to clients
 
Knowledge Management : 

Strong contribution to knowledge sharing efforts, reviews and continually improves processes so that the team and firm capture and leverage knowledge

Skills and attributes for success : 

- Have experience in closing deals (M&A & Capital raise) in the IT services or BPM or Software segments Relevant industry experience is critical

- Extensive experience of developing pitches independently

- Comprehensive understanding of financial modelling and valuation

- Strong understanding of the IT services or BPM or Software industry trends, player landscape and business models

- Knowledge of deal structuring- commercials (both strategic and PE/VC deals)

- Be well aware of rules and regulations that apply to M&A deals

- Be a front line, client interfacing person

- Have good working experience of financial analysis and strategy

- Leadership skills

- Strong market network and relationship building skills

- High initiative and drive

- Maturity and ability to handle pressure

- Positive attitude and high commitment

- Excellent oral and written communication skills

- Professional appearance and poise

- High team orientation

- Project management/time management

- Business development

To qualify for the role you must have 

- CA or MBA (preferably from a premier institute) with a good academic background

- 6-10 years of relevant post qualification experience

Preference will be given to candidates who have worked with:

- Investment banks in the Tech or Digital practice

- M&A & Strategy teams of large corporates operating in IT services, BPM or Software industry

- Private equity / venture capital firms

Ideally you'll also have : 

- Strong communication, facilitation, relationship-building, presentation and negotiation skills.

- Be highly flexible, adaptable, and creative.

- Comfortable interacting with senior executives (within the firm and at the client)

- Strong leadership skills and supervisory responsibility.
