EY-GDS - Strategy and Transactions (SaT) - Associate Manager (Pursuits)

Within GDS SaT, our Pursuits team provides support for pre-deal and origination activities, including deal origination meeting decks, capital agenda infopacks/opportunity paper decks, value creation opportunity packs, industry insight packs, divestiture opportunity decks, thought leadership packs and idea generation support. The Pursuits team works in tandem with global teams in delivering exceptional client service and support in BD activities.

The Pursuits' team in GDS SaT has over 120 professionals supporting deal origination engagements across the globe.

The opportunity :

We're looking for Associate Managers with experience in Financial Services sector to join the leadership group of our GDS- SaT Pursuits Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a leading firm whilst being instrumental in the growth of a new service offering.

Your key responsibilities :

- Manage and participate in business development activities and achieve business growth by developing and maintaining strong working relationships

- Execute RFPs and proposals including organising and communicating with key internal and external stakeholders

- Prepare and actively participate in Strategic Client workshops, conferences and sector meetings

- Support on trend analysis on sector activity, write-ups and POVs

- Understand, analyze and assess information from external and internal (EY) sources to provide insights for clients to develop strategy and plan for raising, investing and/or optimizing capital

- Develop in depth knowledge on FS and its sub-sectors, to be able to add value while analyzing financial and strategic information of clients, and identifying opportunities based on market developments

- Write reports to synthesis and present the findings, and analysis from research

- Undertake quality check (both qualitative and quantitative) to ensure:

- Output is insightful and as per expectation of onsite teams

- Delivering within agreed timelines

- Manage/handle multiple requests at a time and guide team members accordingly

- Measure, monitor and improve client service by guiding team members and driving excellence in service delivery

- Develop excellent relationships with global stakeholders and be responsible for a high degree of client satisfaction with engagement process and work products

- Direct the progress of engagement work, inform supervisors of the engagement status, and manage staff performance

- Conduct timely performance reviews off Staff and Senior employees and help in developing and guiding staff and other junior professionals by providing effective performance feedback/training and ensuring that team responsibilities are consistent with skills and developmental goals. Lead by example

- Use current technology and tools to enhance the effectiveness of services provided

Skills and attributes for success :

- Excellent understanding of company, industry, economic research, financial statements and valuations

- Knowledge in undertaking sector studies and analyzing merger and acquisition (M&A) drivers for a given sector or transaction

- Good understanding of corporate transactions and funding mechanisms

- Ability to determine risks and opportunity areas, assess findings and communicate insights

- Proven experience in interacting with senior management of clients

- Excellent problem solving, project management, facilitation and interpersonal skills, facilitation and interpersonal skills

To qualify for the role, you must have :

- Master's degree OR MBA OR Master's in business administration or CFA

- 6-8 years of work experience in Management consultancy firms, preferably Big 4 or financial analytics firms Or Equity / Investment banking research role in leading KPOs/Captives

- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in the Financial services or Fintech sector

- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills

- Experience in a business development role involving go-to-market initiatives, company and/or industry research and thought leadership documents

Ideally, you'll also have :

- Project management skills

- Exposure to tools like Alteryx, PowerBI etc.
