Job Summary:


- As a trusted partner and advisor to the SL/BU, the Strategic Talent Consultant is considered an extension of the SL/BU Leader, working closely with the SL/BU leadership to support growth objectives and help meet future talent needs. The Strategic Talent Consultant has overall accountability for one or more SL/BU functions (subject to size and complexity of the SL/BU), working closely with SL/BU leadership to implement the talent strategy and priorities while effectively leveraging the expertise of other parts of the GDS talent function, including our CoE, technology and shared services (when this becomes available).


- This role requires a deep understanding of both the SL/BU direction and HR/Talent related topics/issues to ensure successful implementation of key high-touch people processes and initiatives. The role partners closely with the other CoE's within talent (such as Talent Development and Recruiting) to ensure seamless execution of talent initiatives across the SL/BU. This role holder will be responsible for leading and developing a team to deliver exceptional client service to the SL/BU.


Purpose of the Job:


Strategic partnering


- The STC proactively works with Talent Leadership and SL/BU Leadership to align talent priorities with SL/BU priorities and drive the talent agenda, translating the SL/BU strategy into practical and innovative talent solutions at a SL/BU unit level


- Advise SL/BU leaders on development of EY organizational culture that underpins our values, promotes high-performance teaming and enables the delivery of exceptional client service and partner with SL/BU to implement supporting actions


- Advise SL/BU on cultivating an inclusive and flexible work environment that values diversity and partners with the SL/BU and D&I Leader to implement D&I solutions


- Advise on talent matters & talent implications of any SL/BU related projects or initiatives


- Understand future workforce needs/ workforce planning


- Work closely with the SL/BU to balance resource deployment needs of the SL/BU with individuals- strategic career objectives


- Actively support SL/BU unit recruiting leads and contribute to recruitment plans based on SL/BU forecasts


- Understand and champion the role of technology in enabling the EY workforce and in managing our reputation through social media


- Guide SL/BU leaders in effective change management strategies and the deployment of change (e.g. for restructuring, acquisitions)


- Recommend to the SL/BU on ways to accelerate the engagement of our people and partner with leaders/managers to implement supporting actions


- Act as a coach to SL/BU leaders in relation to delivering the people strategy agenda


- Counsel SL/BU on our rewards and recognition approach and support Total Rewards team in implementing and supporting related programs


- Actively seek opportunities to brand EY and its culture to the external market through the advice and support of Brand, Marketing and


- Communications team


- Strategic talent initiatives


- Execute innovative HR programs


- Organization development


- Competency frameworks and job families


- Influence the Talent CoEs in the development of best-in-class models and programs


- Facilitate change and support the implementation and successful adoption of special projects and initiatives on the GDS and/or Area/Global Talent agenda, for example, Performance Management, Talent transformation, Talent Development and Rewards for example


Talent management : 


- Accountable for supporting leaders to develop and manage their long term talent pipeline (e.g. PPED promotions, leadership program nominations etc.)


- Contribute to workforce planning activities in the context of understanding capability, skills development and manage workforce planning efforts to meet SL/ BU needs


- Support the SL/BU in the development and retention of top performers (leveraging expertise from the Talent Development function) to build a pipeline of diverse future leaders for the sustainability and success of our SL/BU


- Manage the development of leaders and contribute to the design of career path models and development programs along with Learning & Talent Development Leader


- Effective HR service delivery


- Accountable for the overall performance management culture and outcomes of talent/ salary review


- Ownership of people related M&A activities


- Responsible for talent implications of change, e.g. workforce reductions, changes to org structure etc.


- Internal stakeholder management and team development


- Develop strong relationships with other regions, areas and global talent functions, both from a SL and CoE perspective


- Understand and leverage consistent talent solutions developed by other region talent functions


- Understand external market landscape, research talent trends, develop own knowledge and share with others


- Develop/coach other team members


- Ensure compliance to local regulations and manage risks (e.g. performance management risk)


- Maintain a strong understanding of key SL/BU and financial drivers that determine SL/BU success


- Maintain a strong understanding of all market trends that affect our industry and the resulting talent profile required to support the SL/BU


- Responsible for developing a team and their performance management


Analytical/Decision Making Responsibilities:


- Use financial metrics and people analytics to support decision making


- Escalation point for resolving issues including sensitive ER cases


- Oversee all the HR cycle processes for SL/ BU populations: induction programs, annual plans, performance management, salary reviews, promotions, exit procedures, etc.


- Proactive in dealing with issues and strong problem solving skills; ability to work with ambiguity and build consensus across diverse, often global, groups


- Ability to work both independently and within teams, including virtual teams, with a focus on our culture and values


Knowledge, Competency and Skills Requirements:


- Strong organization development experience, experience on competency frameworks, working knowledge of job families and talent

development


- Strong business acumen and commercial awareness


- Clear, comprehensive understanding of the link between the talent team strategy and business strategy


- Ability to develop clear, actionable plans in support of an overall SL/BU strategy


- Ability to identify new ways for Talent to support the SL/BU strategy


- Strong client focus with the ability to build good relationships and work virtually/ across borders


- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders across the organisation at all levels


- Ability to engage and influence others, with good change management skills and a desire to act as a change agent


- Strong Employee Relations experience of complex disciplinary, grievance and performance management activities especially with employees in senior management/leadership level


- Demonstrates ability to coach and advise partners/directors/senior managers


Supervision Responsibilities:


- Lead and manage a team


- Drive HR processes within the SL/BU line


- Motivate team members through effective monitoring, coaching, counselling and providing a positive working environment


Other Requirements:


From time to time, travel to other GDS and EY locations may be required to fulfil the needs of the role
