Life Sciences Research  Job Summary :  - This position is designated as Assistant manager in the R&I function at GDS and is housed in Life Sciences domain. The position delivers high quality, impactful research, and analysis to assigned projects that enables internal customers to build client relationships, win pursuits, deliver on engagements, and strengthen the brand and reputation of EY in the industry. Assistant manager also provides their own point of view and basic insights in their deliverables and manage small to medium-sized projects. The projects are in accordance with sector priorities agreed in the domain's Integrated Knowledge Plan. These priorities cover supporting key accounts and/or strategic solutions, providing an insightful perspective on specific segments, trends or regions, supporting the service line strategy or developing market-impacting points of view to support domain's go-to-market priorities.   - The Assistant Manager role requires the ability to combine good analytical skills and an inquisitive mindset with real-world perspective driven by an understanding of both EY practitioners- experiences and broader Life Sciences drivers. A collaborative mindset is also crucial, as Assistant managers have a key role to play in supporting networks within the domain, sharing information across sectors, service lines, accounts and solutions, and using that information to further strengthen the quality of materials produced.  - The position will also work closely with colleagues in other domains (e.g. in another sector, service line or geography, or with the Market Developments & Insights group) to deliver on cross-sector / cross-service line topics and initiatives. This position requires awareness and understanding of other EY Knowledge functional competencies and services to support integrated teaming and the coordinated delivery of an integrated knowledge plan to domain stakeholders and customers.  - The position works closely with the GDS Domain Team Leader as well as, where applicable, with the Domain Knowledge Leader, Senior Domain Analyst and Knowledge Managers to support the domain's leadership, senior stakeholders, and other key customers, contributing to impactful research, analysis and insight that helps to differentiate EY in the marketplace.  - The position may also participate in strategic initiatives to increase the commercial impact of deliverables, improve efficiency and enhance service quality. Assistant managers also peer review deliverables and coach junior colleagues.  - Produce a range of analysis work, from high-level single frames to detailed reports, to support the firm's strategic decisions on industries, companies, and emerging business topics. Demonstrates and applies strong subject knowledge to deliverables  - Support engagement with stakeholders and internal customers to provide them with a clear perspective on the issues, challenges, and opportunities in the market, through impactful research and analysis on the implications of those trends for EY and its clients.  - Together with the Knowledge Manager, proactively alert stakeholders and internal customers regarding changes amongst key clients and competitors, and assess the implications of those changes for key stakeholders and their teams.   - Develop relationships with manager / senior manager-level stakeholders in account/service line/solution teams and collaborates with domain customers and EY Knowledge colleagues to deliver research, analysis, and insights that support business development activities and service delivery to clients (including for relationship building initiatives and specific engagements).  - Provide research and analysis support to major pursuits, including working with other EY Knowledge and Global Markets teams to deliver relevant analysis on market sizing, market share, and market performance.  - Develop project plans and manage projects, including objectives, timelines, milestones, priorities, team member responsibilities and work products. Monitor progress and regularly update stakeholders on potential overruns and changes; re-negotiates timelines, scopes changes, and budgets if necessary.  - Continuously develop and hone his / her knowledge on the assigned industry and generate original ideas for research and analysis  - Identify cross-sector point of view (POV) sharing opportunities and seeks opportunities to collaborate with other domain teams on issues that cut across EY's business activities.  - Support the collection of benchmarking data from pursuits, engagements and proprietary research to enhance the depth of data available on the EY Benchmarking database and to the broader firm, and use data from EY Benchmarking to support domain priorities.  - Strong focus on research competency with active participation in R&I competency development offerings related to research leading practices  - Able to synthesize and analyze information coherently and succinctly. Able to bring together a variety of perspectives and sources across the domain to deliver impactful analysis that supports business priorities.   - Demonstrates expertise in information sources relevant to the domain.  - Demonstrates the ability to use both qualitative and quantitative research and analysis methodologies, including financial analysis skills, to synthesize information, review data inputs and provide meaningful analysis on the subject.  - Adept at using strategically sound analytical methodologies and capable of coaching less-experienced team members to improve their skills in research, analysis, data analytics, and visualization.  - Understands the firm's go-to-market strategy and service delivery models, how core business services support the business, and how knowledge analytics and measurement enables exceptional client service and high-performing teams.
