- The role that will be integral in the re-shaping and re-focus of the GDS MSE team, increasing the value and impact of GDS across UK&I Market Segments.
- The role will operate closely with the UK&I Market Segment Manager (MSM) and broader UK&I Market Segment (MS) leadership team and will be responsible for delivering high quality management and execution of specific operational processes, with the objective of enabling UK&I Market Segment teams to focus on the execution of the go-to-market strategy. The role will also have line management responsibilities across the GDS UK&I MSE team.
- Day to day the MSE Lead will be the 'go to person' for operational excellence and efficiencies, together with acting as an additional point of contact alongside the UK&I Market Segment Manager in response to a diverse range of operational initiatives from across the business.
- The role requires strong business and operational acumen with expertise in people management and teaming, project management and strong analytical and quantitative skills.
Your key responsibilities:
- Direct line management, counselling and effective management of People related processes: recruitment and on / off boarding of MSE roles, budget management and reporting across UK&I MSE team (5 MSE Managers and 6 Snr Associates)
- Identifying opportunities for Automation, Centralization or Elimination of operational processes
- Project management of ad hoc centrally led MSE operations initiatives
- Accountable for timely delivery of operational and governance activities e.g., preparation of materials relating to Board meetings, account reviews, community updates, weekly/monthly MI business performance against KPIs
- Oversight of MS data integrity across the Firm's reporting systems and accuracy of MS reporting
- First point of contact for data specific queries e.g., MS account segmentation and portfolio and related revenues, sales and opportunity pipeline
- Analysis and timely distribution of MI and financial performance updates
- Project management support across strategic go-to-market initiatives
- Annual budget planning and budget management
- Support MS strategic and account revenue planning process
- Management of MS CX programme includes, planning, performance tracking and reporting
- Attend key MS leadership meetings to capture minutes/actions, timely distribution of actions and proactively monitor progress against agreed actions
- Leverage EY's research platforms to build sector/solutions knowledge
- Identify opportunities for increased process efficiencies that will deliver increased value to stakeholders
- Leverage internal EMEIA and Global networks to identify and share best practice
Skills and attributes for success:
- High experience of resource management, coaching and development of direct reports
- Ability to act as delegate for UK&I MSM
- Develop recommendations for operational process improvement, and ability to assist in problem solving as process issues arise
- Proactively anticipate problems before they occur, define the problems, and identify possible/apparent causes.
- Proven ability to effectively lead and inspire a high performing team and able to work autonomously to deliver operational activities directly assigned to the role

To qualify for the role, you must have:
- Bachelor's/University degree, preferably in business
- A minimum of ten years' experience in an operations focused role, ideally at board level
- A minimum of five years' experience in resource management, and coaching and development of direct reports
