EY - Assistant Director - Economic Advisory

The GDS EA team is part of the Economics Advisory and Infrastructure Advisory (EA-IA) team and focusses on both the government and private sector, Our Economic Advisory (EA) practice offers a suite of services that includes decision support, analytics, econometrics and operations research that assist clients in making strategic and tactical decisions. Incumbent will be applying economic theory and econometric tools to get to the root of client's problem, analysing large and complex datasets and building predictive models to come up with robust and compelling solutions.

As a senior member of the sector practice at Economic Advisory, the person would :

- Leading and managing engagements related to Economic Advisory

- Plan and scope projects manage stakeholders

- Responsible for demand generation for projects for allocated regions

- Identifying new services within business and working with partners and senior managers on learning and piloting activities from GDS

- Manage/handle multiple requests at a time and guide team members accordingly

- Measure, monitor and improve client service by guiding team members and driving excellence in service delivery

- Building relationships with EY offices across the globe, demonstrating knowledge of regional practices business and developing open communication channels

a. Responsible for leading end to end engagement across the life cycle of Economic project

b. Prepare business proposals and presentations

c. Carry out and research and data collection, conduct analyses in a variety of fields within public and private sector

d. Modelling and benchmarking analysis

- Assist the practice offices with all forms of high-quality deliverables such as :

a. Policy Conceptualization and Understanding

b. Macro-Economic or micro economic analysis

c. Desktop sector research and other adhoc requests

- Assist the practice offices with high quality business development support including :

a. Proposal preparation support

b. Benchmarking studies across key indicators.

- From a modelling perspective (desirable), the candidate should be able to assist the practice offices with all forms of high-quality deliverables such as :

a. Cost benefit analysis as part of feasibility studies/Business cases

b. Econometric modelling and Machine learning analysis

c. Economic Impact estimation using Input-Output models and CGI modelling.

- Familiarity with a broad base of statistical and analytics tools as below and expertise in a few of them :

a. Tools like Eviews, SPSS etc

b. Analytics Platforms (R, SAS)

c. Data Management (Excel, SQL, Alteryx)

d. Data Visualization (Tableau, Spotfire)

e. Programming or scripting experience (Python,VBA)
