Extramarks is currently in the process of scaling up rapidly and is looking to hire for the position of Vice President - Technology (VP - Technology), to be an experienced professional with unique skill who stretches from strategy to execution. Extramarks is driving student learning through data driven techniques by providing personalized learning recommendations to the students. Apart from such customer facing innovations, we are also implementing internal operational excellence solutions through similar data driven approaches. Job Role: Functional Lead of Technology Vertical

Job Overview

An indicative list key roles and responsibilities of the successful candidate include -

- Own direct responsibility in terms of key technology choices and implementation

- Experienced Professional and a Technology leader who will be leading team comprising all of Product management, Engineering, Design and User research, Data Science, IT, Security, Infrastructure and Product operations.

- A forward thinker with a broad technical background as well as excellent leadership, team building, communications, and management skills who is able to able to build strong interpersonal relationships with technical peers and other senior management.

- Participate in development process to ensure project deliverables are met on time and are of highest quality and efficiency.

- Oversee all aspects of the technology, including technical strategy, technology architecture, best practices & technology stacks.

- Improve the technical competence of the team through training & development of existing and new team members

- Responsible for delivering business impact by identify leading edge technologies and driving technical innovation by creating timelines for the development and deployment of all technological solutions.

- Developing business case justifications and cost/benefit analysis for technology spending and initiatives.

- Shall ensure company's technological processes and service comply with all requirements, laws, and regulations

Requirements:

- 5+ years hands on experience in Java based projects

- Self-starter and independent thinker.

- Experience working independently to design, plan, and execute technical projects; able to articulate rationale for making difficult trade-offs

- Experience with new, latest technologies and trends such as Blockchain, AI, etc.

- Ability to effectively communicate and interact with Sr. management and peers

- Proven experience in managing large scale enterprise projects

- Experience solving challenging engineering problems with multiple constraints

- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and diagnostic skills

- Strong sense of team work, ownership, and accountability

- Desire to change the existing paradigms, think out of the box and sharp analytical minds

- Ability to comfortably work in a fast paced, often ambiguous environment

- Excellent time management, resource management and planning skills

- Experience with agile or other program management methodologies and supporting tools.

- Prior experience as a software developer (MUST)

- Qualification: B.E/B.TECH/M.TECH/MS

- Only from B2C companies

- B.E. from Premium Top Tier Institutes like IIT- s, NIT- s, IIIT's is preferred.
