Express Stores - Engineering Manager

What you'll do day to day:

- As an engineering manager, you'll be working with some of the industry's brightest minds to convert product requirements into tech. architecture, setup code standardization and run code reviews, manage sprints and deployment.

- Provide hands-on technical management, guidance, and support including system/design/code review, and ultimately be responsible for the health of the systems your team builds.

- Plan sprints and navigate team through contingencies and successfully complete the sprint

- Manage a team of 2-4 developers and convert product requirements into tech architecture.

- You will develop a team culture of ownership that reinforces the core values of Express stores.

What we look for:

- Preferably in the fields of computer science or engineering

- Must possess 5 - 8 years of work experience.

- 1 -3 years of experience with a Start up (preferred).

- Strong understanding of B2B product development cycle.

- Hands on in Python/Django and Server Management (AWS/GCP/Azure).

- Experience in Agile methodologies like scrum.

- Ability to work in a fast paced environment.

- Knowledge of industry best practices for building large scale and highly reliable applications.

- Strong analytical skills and a sense of ownership.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Ability to balance business needs, a sense of urgency, and shipping high quality and pragmatic solutions

Express Stores is an omnichannel startup (online and offline) by IIT Delhi, BITS Pilani grads. It is a platform for grocery stores to find trusted business solutions including supply, inventory management and customer relationship management tools. We aim to build a chain of 7/11 stores for India. The founders Apoorv Jain & Kartik Gupta have worked at UrbanClap, Jabong, Flyrobe, Wadi.com in India, Dubai and South East Asian Markets.
