Position Purpose:

Process Safety lead Teach transfer is responsible for Preventing and mitigating process safety incidents, by establishing formal methods to review manufacturing operations/ processes/ plants/ projects that will: (a) Identify process hazards (b) Eliminate or minimize hazards where possible (c) Assess risk, (d) Identify measures to reduce risks and (e) Investigate process safety incidents.

Key Responsibilities : 


- Identify and propose objectives and targets in the areas of Process Safety

- Identify concerns for implementation of Process Safety control measures at various stages of Product life cycle and across the organization

- Suggest safeguards for risk reduction measures to acceptable levels

- Proactively support process safety risk assessment and incorporate corrective & preventive actions, as necessary

Operational & Financial: 

- Perform a role of Process Safety lead tech transfer for Company

- To guide & Support the tech transfer by implementing the Corporate PSM standards, procedures.

- PSM governance

- PSM training / capability development system

- PSM in New product development/introduction/new plant construction

- Ensure PHA is conducted for all the processes

- Maintain Process safety Database and Best Practices

- Monitor evaluation of high consequent hazards which are characteristic of material and chemistry involved and those that are characteristic of the process variable

- Awareness on standards and codes on Process Safety, CCPS and applicable NFPA guidelines

- Knowledge and understanding of data from Process tests involving DSC, RC, TSU and material safety data involving Dust explosion, MIE, Powder Resistivity, Layer ignition, Ignition sensitivity, Explosion severity

- Good understanding on tools of Process Hazard Analysis like HAZOP, FTA, ETA, What-if analysis and Risk Assessments

- Good understanding on Powder and Process Safety concepts, data generation tools, Static Electricity and hazards and controls in Milling and drying operations

- Hands on experience on Risk Assessments of High consequence events

- Ensure smooth planning and timely conduct of HAZOP studies on Process Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessments utilizing applicable tools

- Ensure implementation of guidelines, recommendations of HAZOP, conducting PSSR and certify safety requirements for new equipment / plant/ Process for safe start up

- Interpret data received from external agencies and utilize them in HAZOP studies

- Keep track of planned dates of HAZOP requirements and planning Apprise the Head process safety about HAZOP compliance status Suggest safeguards for risk reduction measures to acceptable levels Establish safety requirements and inspection checklists for site

- Provide all necessary and relevant inputs for On-Site Emergency Plan

- Review all process changes in the site and suggest controls to make changes safe. Carry out HAZOP, if required.

- Help the tech transfer team in developing P&ID after conducting PHA

Safety consultants (Du Pont)/ associations in the field of PSM, process Risk assessment.
