Expedia - Associate Accountant - Accounts Payable (2-5 yrs)

Job Mission :

The Associate Accountant for Finance Shared Services will be required to assist with processing of invoices and claims for payment for goods and services received, control of creditor accounts, preparation and data entry of accounts for payment to support Asian and Europe businesses. The role will have to follow the expansion both in terms of transactional volume and complexity of the business model.

To provide and build upon controls and processes which will support the high growth expectations of the organization. Ensure adherence to group policies and controls.

Area or Responsibility :

- Maintain a high level of customer service in accordance with Service Level Agreements and provide consistent, timely and accurate delivery of accounts payable services to stakeholders through managing and conducting daily activities.

- Conduct regular reviews of policies and procedures to identify issue or provide improvement to current procedures and systems and continually review and update the process of accounts payment to ensure that it meets Auditor requirement and is achieved with maximum efficiency.

- Strong communication skills in order to effectively communicate with various stakeholders across the businesses

- Ensure deliverables are met in accordance with defined process objectives

- Monitor internal controls (SOX compliancy)

- Support financial statement audits

- Assist in month-end financial statement close

- Support other accounting projects, as necessary

- Strong communication skills in order to effectively communicate with various customers across the regions

- The applicant should display a positive and proactive attitude, strong organizational skills, the ability to prioritize and multitask and be a strong communicator, both paper and over the phone, as he or she will frequently deal with higher levels of management

Skills/Experience :

- Strong MS Excel skills (Vlookup, Pivot Table, Conditional Formatting, Goal Seek, Data Validation, Securing workbook/tab, formulas etc.)

- Strong understanding and experience in Indian statutory compliances i.e. TDS, Service Tax, Cenvat Credit etc.

- Thrives on working in a fast paced multinational organization and can share their enthusiasm with the team

- Self starter with ability to work both autonomously and as part of the wider finance team

- Experience in working in a highly transactional environment

- Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines

- Prepare and maintain various reports

- Identify and execute the necessary process adjustments

- Willingness to learn new skills.
