Fight Hunger Foundation, set up in August 2012, with the sole purpose of eradicating malnutrition and protecting our country's children from hunger. It is member organization of Action Against Hunger International Network responding to humanitarian relief and resilience works in 50 countries for past 40 years. Fight Hunger Foundation is Indian not-for-profit, non-political and non-religious organization registered under Section 25 of the Companies Act, 1956 in Mumbai.

The board is composed of representatives from diverse sectors including business, health, academia and diplomacy, with Professor MS Swaminathan as Chairman Emeritus of the Foundation. The organization functions with a small but dedicated team of practitioners. To achieve its mission to end hunger in a systematic and sustainable way, we have developed strong partnerships with various institutions including Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Department of Women and Child Development, hospitals and public health research institutions, besides other national and international organizations that support our cause.

Reports to : The Chairman of the Board of Directors

Direct Reports : Department Heads Such as Head of Programs, Head of Technical Research and Development, Head of Advocacy, Head of Communications and Fundraising, Head of Finance and Administration

Qualification : Post Graduate degree from a reputed academic or professional institute

Experience : Minimum 15 years of work experience of which 3 years or more should have been in a leadership role

Travel : Approximately 30% of the time

Type of Employment : Full time

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES :

The key responsibilities of the Executive Director will be :

Leadership :

- Lead the management of all of the functions of the FHF activities including Operations, Technical Research, Advocacy, Communications, Fundraising, Finance and Human Resources in India.

- Assume full responsibility for revenue generation and financial stability.

- Act as the key person for the FHF Board of Directors, ensuring they participate fully in the strategic and financial decision making of the organisation, and are informed of all key strategic issues in a timely and appropriate manner.

Strategy :

- Develop, maintain, update and revise, in coordination with the Board of Directors, the five year strategy for FHF.

- Report on a regular basis to the Board of Directors on the key indicators contained in the five year strategy.

- Ensure the organisation and each department has a coherent plan of action for the implementation of the five year strategic plan.

- Create and maintain partnerships with Government at various levels.

- Ensure all risks associated with the implementation of the five year strategic plan are assessed, identified and where possible mitigated.

- Implement high levels of governance and compliance with all legal, statutory and risk management requirements.

Representation / Advocacy :

- Act as the primary spokesperson for FHF in India

- Ensure all external communications produced by FHF are appropriate and coherent with the five year strategy validated by the Board of Directors.

- Develop networking with local authorities, academic and other stakeholders at Central and States levels.

Partnership with ACF International :

- Coordinate with all international ACF structures as needed, and represent FHF in all ACF international meetings.

- Ensure all activities of FHF in India are coherent with the ACF International Strategic Plan, and all use of the brand is in accord with the ACF principles and charter.

EXPERIENCE :

Must Have's :

- Post Graduate degree from a reputed academic or professional institute

- Minimum 12 years of work experience of which 3 years or more should have been in a leadership role.

- An understanding of program management, project management will be an asset. This would include personnel management, budget allocations, and a broad understanding of data and research.

- Good understanding of marketing, fundraising / resource mobilisation / business development as well as maintaining donor relations.

- Experience in finance management, general management and people management within an organisation.

- Experience in internal as well as external stakeholder management including the board of an organisation.
