Job description

- Ability to conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis based on secondary and primary research

- Should have a flair to work across sectors such as consumer goods, health and nutrition, agri, food and feed ingredients, education, social development, etc. and have good business acumen.

- Perform complex analyses on collected data and/or complete modules within larger assignments

- Conduct in-depth research and create high quality reports on market intelligence, competitive intelligence, market sizing, hypothesis validation, innovation scouting, trends analysis, decision support etc.

- Employ strategic tools to develop and assess options, ensure logical reasoning, and challenge assumptions

- Plan, write, edit, review and coordinate the development of reports, briefs, presentations and summaries

- Analyze and prepare insightful presentations (and visualization) from research data

- Develop expertise in specialized research tools, databases and sources; may focus on specific data classes (e.g., demographics, micro-economics, technical, etc.)

- Actively participate and contribute in team discussions on project specific areas

- Independently lead some projects or modules of larger projects, or sub-lead complex projects along with Manager

- Responsible for mentoring junior team members, managing project and ensuring quality

Skill Set Required

- An analytical frame of mind with the ability to think through. A learning attitude would be must.

- Ability to display in-depth knowledge in the specific vertical/horizontal domain that the individual is expected to focus on

- Ability to analyze and synthesize the available data and bring out value-added insights to the clients

- Ability to ensure that tasks within areas of responsibility are completed timely and accurately

- Ability to manage client expectations and innovate rapidly; challenging current thinking by implementing new ways of working

- Possess a flexible & detail oriented attitude

- Ability to practice attentive and active listening skills

- Ability to identify pro-actively ways to contribute to firms goals & mission

- Excellent communication skills; Good interpersonal skills

- Ability to use MS Office, Database tools, Statistical tools and other software tools effectively for productive output

Education and experience

- MBA/MA(Econ)/ MBE/ Post-graduate diploma in Management/ Masters in Development Economics from a reputed institute

- 3-5 years of relevant research experience

- Experience in management consulting firms, think tanks, industry associations, Government bodies, ministries or offshore research service providing companies will be preferred

- Relevant work experience or exposure to landscaping studies, industry and market assessments, strategic assignments, thought partnerships, white paper publications, etc.

- Strong quantitative knowledge with a demonstrated ability to extract appropriate data to convey complex information through the use of supporting tables, graphs and other visual representations.
