This is a strategy role for one of the top US based investment banks on the street. The MBS team provides market leading coverage on Agency Mortgage Backed Securities.   - The research associate will work with strategists based in NY to help implement quantitative analytical models, analyze large amounts of data, and identify investment.  - The role requires working knowledge of securitized products (especially Mortgage pass-through securities), writing efficient database queries, and inclination towards data crunching, capacity to summarize large pieces of information and to generate models/analytics independently.   - Typical projects may include tracking rates, indices, prepayment speeds, collateral issuance or mortgage spreads, putting together the infrastructure for capturing crucial data points; writing sections of research periodicals while creating/updating charts and tables, valuing bonds, ideating investment strategies or identifying themes supportive of/contributing to team's investment thesis.  Skill Set Required :   - Basic knowledge of fixed income financial instruments, especially structured products, and derivatives like swaps and options.   - Knowledge of MS office suite, advanced excel, VBA and SQL is a must. Any experience in q/KDB, Bloomberg or dealing with large data sets will be a significant advantage.  - Ability to explain and defend complex methodologies on client calls or in emails.  - Must be extremely detail oriented, with a zero tolerance for error.  - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.  - Ability to work independently, if required.  - Logical approach to problem solving.   - Dedication towards work with a learning attitude and pro-activeness.  - Flexible approach to workload and work hours as per team's requirements.  Education and Experience :   - B.Tech from IIT or any other reputed Engineering Institutes.   - 1-4 years of Financial/ Industry experience in Securitized products (CMBS/RMBS/CDOs/CLOs).  - Strong academic record, quantitative skills and an interest in and understanding of financial markets.  - Any progress towards CFA will be an added advantage
