Job description

Client Management:

- Client engagement and mining: Handle key client accounts independently. Responsible for overall quality and delivery of project reports. Maintaining productivity and utilization data for the team.

- Sales support: Help global sales executives in sales support initiatives

- Willingness to travel onshore for client meetings, workshops, or sales activities.

People management:

- Team management: Handling teams of 3-10 professionals (Research Associates and Senior Research Associates) working for dedicated/various clients.

- Career management: Responsible for mentoring and coaching Research Associates and Senior Research Associates. Responsible for their career management and performance evaluation.

Training:

- Patent Research Training: Create and deliver various training modules on patent research services/ patent laws/patent application drafting/office action response drafting

- Patent Research Projects:

- Patent Application Drafting (for filing in US and India) - Understanding invention disclosures related to various technical domains (electronics, communication, software, medical devices), determining novelty of invention based on comparison with known prior art, conducting inventor interviews, drafting patent application (including claims, detailed description, drawings), reviewing patent application drafted by team members, and mentoring team members for drafting patent application.

- Drafting response to Office Action (for US applications) - Analyzing patent application and references cited in office action, determining differences between the patent application and cited references, formalizing strategies to respond on various objections/rejections (101, 102, 103, 112) in office action, amending claims and/or writing arguments to differentiate patent application from the cited references, reviewing office action responses prepared by other team members, and mentoring team members for drafting office action response.

Skill Set Required

- Strong analytical skills with thorough understanding of the technology domain

- Excellent written and verbal communication (in English) with particular ability in creative and persuasive writing

- Excellent comprehension and presentation skills

- Responsible attitude and ability to complete tasks in a timely manner

- Well-developed interpersonal and active listening skills

- Prior experience of drafting patent applications (at least 100 cases) and/or office action responses (at least 100 cases) and independent client management is preferred

- Delivery of training sessions and content preparation for knowledge management

- Experience of independently managing a team and a process (end-to-end)

- Excellent knowledge of IP laws of various countries, various patent databases, technical domains with respect to educational background

- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word,

- Any certifications of additional courses or trainings (in Intellectual Property or otherwise) would be a plus

Education and Experience

- Professionals with M.Tech/ B.Tech (Computer Science, Electronics and Communication, Signal Processing, Semiconductor Manufacturing/Fabrication, VLSI, Instrumentation) with 7 to 10 years of relevant/ industry experience are eligible
