Research Associate - US Credit Strategy - Job Description

Position Description:

This is a strategy role for one of the top US based investment banks on the street. The US Credit Strategy team provides market leading coverage on High Yield and Investment Grade Credit. The research associate will work with the strategists based in NY and will be involved in tracking and analyzing the North America corporate bond market.

The role requires a lot of data crunching, creating and maintaining of databases/ models and analytics. Typical projects may include tracking bond spreads and pricing, updating tables and generating charts for research periodicals, analyzing data to come up with investment ideas/strategies and even contribute to research report writing.

Desired Background:

- B.Tech from IIT or any other reputed institution, with/without prior experience

- 1-3 years of Financial/ Industry experience in Fixed income markets

- Any progress towards CFA will be an added advantage

- Knowledge of advanced excel, VBA and any other programming language will be preferred

- Strong academic record, quantitative skills and good understanding of financial markets

Knowledge/Skills:

- Basic knowledge of fixed income instruments, especially credit products

- Any experience in dealing with large data sets will be a significant advantage

Interpersonal and other skills:

- Must be extremely detail oriented, with a zero tolerance for error

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to work independently, if required

- Logical approach to problem solving

- Dedication towards work with a learning attitude and pro-activeness
