About the role :

This role represents a marked progression in Media Planning capability depth and breadth, and therefore will take on tasks within the realm of both a Media Planning Manager and Director, based on the skills, knowledge, and experience required and the complexity and size of a given campaign.

The digital lead is responsible for ensuring that the budget is used optimally through the lens of campaign objectives and the universe of available inventory, both during tactical planning, and ongoing cross-channel optimizations. The incumbent will also have responsibility for the day-to-day management of the tactical media plan and its proper implementation, working to implement the brand's overall media strategy in the context of changing marketplace conditions and opportunities. This role is responsible for demonstrating a strong working knowledge of the media space and available media research.

Data Strategy involves transforming the way our clients think about, organize and orchestrate data & technology to deliver more timely, engaging and meaningful brand experience for their customers. This involves thinking through their overall design of their ad stack, how they capture, manage and segment audience data, how they augment this with strategic partnerships, the shape of their reporting data pipeline and the things that need to flow through it, right down to the policies they need to adopt to govern the management of their data in a safe and compliant way.

Some of the things we'd like you to do :

- Support the VP in resource management by managing tasks in the pods

- Responsible for expressing the rationale behind media investment decisions and evidencing the performance vs. expected outcomes

- Development of multiple case studies throughout the course of the year to be leveraged in internal training/on-boarding as well as in new business

- Accountable for the completion of and adherence to Campaign Analysts Plans

- Responsible for the quality of reporting and insights within assigned campaigns.

- Host client 1-1 meetings and sync-ups

- Contributes content to and present at Media Planning Milestone Meetings such as tactical presentations and post-campaign analysis

- Deliver quarterly, semi-annual, or annual updates on work quality as it relates to workstreams (Quarterly business review, Learning Agenda, Platform Evaluations)

- Identify new vendors/partners while maintaining a POV on them

- Drives how syndicated and first-party data is used within the campaign lifecycle

- Support global alignment and collaboration at the Client Pod level

- Ensure successful onboarding of new Essentials by creating onboarding plans

- Manage 1-3 direct media planning reports to support career growth/development

- Work with the leadership team of essence (national + international) to support and lead few agendas that will improve overall product of Essence.

- Take ownership of atleast one future forward project to improve overall thinking, process of Essence Product overall.

- Be the solutions architect for the client and stack, identifying and configuring the technology, data and processes that improve media targeting, and deepen analytical learning. This can encompass comprehensive audits of a client's current setup, as well as leading data and tech partner evaluations, and defining measurement frameworks to capture the most valuable signals

- Work with APAC data practitioners and analytics team to strengthen data practice for Essence.

- Take the lead in designing audience segmentation programs in partnership with Essence client teams, improving their understanding of basic segmentation logic, rule building and the technologies that enable this

- Steward the implementation of client audience data strategy programs, overseeing how client data is captured, managed, enhanced (through partnerships), deployed and measured for effectiveness, working closely with adjacent disciplines in Strategy, Planning, AdOps, Activation and Analytics to ensure audience management best practices flow down and through all client media campaigns

- Act as a mentor to individuals both inside and outside of your team, encouraging them to develop their full potential, and helping them develop their longer-term career plans

- Maintain strong, effective relationships with key partners and suppliers within the ad/mar-tech data space

- Build strong relationships with your senior clients, including communicating with them on subjects outside your remit, and build a reputation for excellence in communication

- Operating as in-agency expert / trusted advisor to clients on all data management issues, including regulatory trends, whilst showing an excellent understanding of the overall media landscape.

A bit about yourself :

- At least 14-16 years- experience in the Digital Media or Advertising field

- (We are open for Director & Sr. Director level based on the right fitment)

- Solid understanding of media concepts/terms, creative and budget requirements

- Solid grasp of digital marketing, especially a deep knowledge of digital media

- Ability to forecast outcomes of brand/DR campaigns and manage spend

- Experience with Media Research Tools (Comscore, GWI, TGI, YouGov) Preferred

- Strong written and verbal communication skills including the desire to progress

- Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented and capable of multi-tasking

- Proven problem-solving skills and ability to think outside of the box Ability to work independently and collaborate in a team environment.

- Demonstrable knowledge of the India ad tech and data landscape, including hands-on experience managing audience data, for your own company or your clients. This includes, a working knowledge of the leading data management platforms (DMPs), customer data platforms (CDPs), knowledge of data onboarding and cross-device matching approaches and an understanding of the tools and technologies that can activate this data (e,g, DSPs, social platforms)

- Familiarity with and experienced in working with cloud-based data solutions (e.g. Google Cloud Platform, Amazon Web services) and tools within (e.g. BigQuery, Ads Data Hub) for data warehousing, insight generation and/or deployment.

- An informed POV for providing future-facing solutions to help clients prepare for a future without third party cookies and/or mobile device IDs.

- Experience managing a team, some of whom may be in other locations and time zones, with demonstrable skills in guiding the development of direct reports, team building and relationship management skills

- Exceptional verbal & written communication skills, able to build and develop strong relationships with, and communicate effectively with people at all levels of seniority; in-agency, client-side, and in the supplier space.

- The ability to think on your feet, present well, and effectively influence those around you

- Able to identify key opportunities to innovate, displaying inventiveness and willingness to challenge existing standards

- Strong organizational skills, including experience with resource management, to effectively manage smooth flow of work through agency

- Exceptional diligence and attention to detail as well as resourcefulness and quick, practical thinking in a demanding environment

- Contribute to new business pitches as needed by providing deep insight and expertise as the programmatic expert
