Essel Finance Forex - Head - Finance & Accounts - CA

The Candidate should hold CA qualification and should be in a position to perform and step into the position of CFO within a one year period. Candidate should be able to exercise and demonstrate to independently handle the following key areas mentioned below. Candidate should have- in-depth knowledge & experience in accounting, taxation, and compliance and must have led a reasonably sized team of at least 5 to 10 members.

Candidate will have to work out of Chennai office location for an extended period / Long stay at regular intervals in Chennai during the first year of service.

1. Accounts :

- Closure of monthly accounts covering activates at over 40 branches Pan India - involving completion of BRS, accounting for all sales and purchase activities of the company and providing for all expenditure and drawing up the schedules in accordance with Sch VI and other audit requirements

- Generation of Corporate MIS for submission to Top Management & Board on a monthly basis

- To be able to analyze the monthly information and to provide valuable inputs for improvement in the overall performance of the Company

- To ensure that strict compliance with all accounting standards laid down by the appropriate bodies with regard to drawing up of the accounts so as to give a true & fair view of the state of affairs of the Company at all points in time

- Handle the internal & statutory audit processes and provide quality inputs to the auditing agencies

- Should be able to support the continuous up gradation of internal accounting software

- Should be able to blend and motivate the Accounts team and also interact effectively with other internal teams.

2. Taxation (Income Tax & Service Tax) & Compliance :

- Should have hands on experience to handle filing of returns & attend assessment proceedings

- Should be able to constantly monitor and support compliances at all branches and other locations vis a vis Prof Tax, PF, ESI, Corp tax and other statutory dues.

3. Treasury & banking Operations :

- Should be able to have a clear understanding of the nature of operations of the business and be able to identify the funding requirements for the various business segments and approach the various Banks well in advance to ensure proper limits are available at all times.

- Be able to have wide network with Banks and should be able to generate a network of Banks to fund the operations

- Have a very thorough knowledge of the CMA process and be able to work and get limits from banks

- Submission of periodical financial statements to the Banks

- Must be able to handle documentation formalities with the Banks vis a vis the limits sanctioned.

- Should be able to handle the rating processes with CRISIL or such other agencies as is required.

- Monitor Receivables & Payables on a daily basis and ensure proper cash management system estimation of monthly inflows and outflows, interlinking of available bank limits & trade finance limits, branch requirements, inter-branch cash transfers and availability of adequate funds for daily forex settlements and to reflect the same through proper cash flow statements.
