Equity Research Analyst - Buy Side - Wealth Management Firm - CA/CFA/IIM/ISB/MDI/FMS

Our Investment Team and Analyst Role

- Our Investment Team currently consists of seven professionals - two Senior Portfolio Managers, two Senior Research Analysts, and three Research Analysts.

- We are looking for someone who shares the same passion, interest, and understanding of fundamentals-based long-term investing. This person will be involved with the team on a daily basis in discussing specific investment opportunities, portfolio construction, risk management, and overall asset allocation. Aside from the technical skills and responsibilities, we are interested in a candidate who is a  thinker someone who likes to read voraciously, learn continuously, and hold open discussions with their colleagues.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities : 

- Contribute to the asset allocation strategy within the investment portfolios and adjust on a tactical and strategic basis

- Consistently monitor the execution of the investment process, and ensure portfolio construction is aligned with the process and asset allocation outlook of the Research Team

- Lead and mentor members of the Research Team and help ensure a productive allocation of the team's resources

- Manage or co-manage the tactical monthly income strategy

- Direct and provide input on future investment mandates and strategies

- Provide analytical and fundamental investment support to the Research Team and manage or co-manage select investment mandates

- Participate in client and prospect presentations on a regular basis

- Contribute to the company's quarterly investment commentary and provide ongoing communication both internally and externally as it relates to investment strategy

- Develop and lead corporate culture in a positive manner and have input into the strategic direction of the company

Desired Skills and Experience : 

- CA/CFA designation, MBA from top ranking b-school

- A solid understanding of, and a strong belief in, a fundamental-centric investment process

- Solid understanding of investment theory, economics, equity, fixed income, and alternative asset classes

- A minimum of 2+ years direct experience in asset management and research functions

- Experience in fundamental investment analysis, modeling, and valuation for assessing asset classes and securities

- Demonstrated experience in asset allocation and portfolio construction

- Experience in managing a multi-asset class income strategy would be an asset

- Experience leading an investment team or the desire to lead an investment team in the future

- Polished and effective presentation skills, including the ability to communicate and make presentations to clients and prospects
