Equity Research Analyst - BFSI - CA/CFA (2-5 yrs)
Equity Research Analyst
Job Purpose :
Primarily to assist in the day to day management of the equity investments by conducting research, generating investment ideas and monitoring positions for a reputed Investments company.
Specific Accountability :
- Assist the portfolio manager by providing industry insight, bottom-up fundamental research and actionable stock recommendations using expertise to positively impact performance of the equity investments.
- Conduct primary and secondary research.
- Perform complex financial modelling and valuation.
- Assist in developing investment strategies and build asset-allocation models to maximize performance and manage risk.
- Generate periodic reports on portfolio performance/ return attribution analysis/ benchmarking.
- Daily monitoring of portfolio holdings for corporate actions and relevant events; liaise with back office and risk management teams.
- Preparing material for presentation of investment opportunities and regular updates to management.
- Develop and sustain frequent contacts with management teams and industry sources utilizing company/industry publications, sell-side analysts, etc to drive insights.
- Assist with daily trading execution and documentation.
Qualifications & Experience :
- CA/CFA is highly desirable.
- A generalist with experience in Equity Research with MENA exposure is a plus but not mandatory.
- Solid quantitative and qualitative analytical skills and strong excel modelling skills.
- Proven interpersonal skills with ability to work as part of a team and enjoy contributing in a cooperative and entrepreneurial environment.
- Strong communication skills - both verbally and in writing.
- Capable of developing independent opinion and defending own views.
- Experience using Bloomberg, Advanced Excel skills.
- Post Graduate Degree in a relevant discipline.
