Equity Research Analyst - Alternative Investment Fund/Portfolio Management Service - Capital Goods/Power Sector

Position: Research Analyst

Reporting To: CIO

Location: Mumbai

Qualification: Preferred post graduate degrees- CA/MBA/CFP/CFA

Experience: Minimum of 12 to 15 years of relevant sector experience in buy-side/sell-side research, private equity, credit rating or consulting.

Sectors: Capital Goods, Power, Industrials

Job Description:

- Industry Analysis; covering 40-50 companies within specific sectors.

- Financial Analysis of the coverage companies; Understanding the company's business through secondary research, plant visits and management meetings.

- Developing a financial model of the company and valuation of its stock.

- Presentation of investment recommendations.

- Periodic Review and Update.

- Domain knowledge in the sectors is preferred, including prior experience of having covered the companies.

- Should understand market trends and valuation benchmarks.

- Should have met the managements of companies under his/her relevant sectors and tracked those companies for a minimum period of 8-10 qtrs.

- Idea generation and tracking portfolio companies within coverage universe.

Skills Required:

- Basic skills needed are analyzing and modelling financial statements, proficiency in Excel and MS Office apps, understanding of businesses, primary research, verbal and written communication.

- Self-starter, lateral thinker, deadline focused.
