Enterprise Data Warehouse Architect - Banking (9-16 yrs)

The Data Warehouse Architect will help develop data-centric solutions to meet the company's business's needs - specifically, integrating existing siloed data and architecting data solutions that reflect the integrated landscape. Working closely with the business and application teams including BI, the Data Warehouse Architect will analyze the business needs, and develop appropriate data deliverables, such as, data models, data flow diagrams, data dictionary and glossaries to meet them.

The Data Warehouse Architect will also assist in issue resolution, in operationalizing Data Governance, in assessing, measuring and tracking data quality, and in creating and socializing data management artifacts, such as, SOP- s, standards and guidelines, control processes etc.

This position will also assist in extending the scope of the enterprise data warehouse and analytics program.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

- The Data Warehouse Architect will provide leadership and expertise in modernizing and maintaining data warehouse solutions. The candidate's core responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

- Responsible for overall direction, oversight, and successful delivery of data warehouse design and implementation

- Leverage experience in architecting data warehouse solutions, including a strong background in Data Architecture, Data Modeling, Data Governance

- Research, analyze, design, and implement database solutions and changes

- Transform complex customer business requirements into effective, efficient, and maintainable enterprise-level solutions

- Serve as an escalation point of contact for all issues related to the data warehouse environment

- Develop and execute functional and technical specifications and testing for advanced system configuration, interfaces, installation and modifications

- Provide input to project planning, requirements gathering, process recommendations, etc.

- Execute project plan tasks and other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

Experience:

- 9+ years professional experience with and knowledge of relational databases and enterprise data warehouses, including work with MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle, or other common RDBMS

- Deep experience with building data warehouses in Redshift, Snowflake, SQL Server et al

- Experience with big data technology (Hadoop, Apache Spark, MapReduce, etc.)

- Knowledge of best practices and principles for data modeling and data mining

- Strong project management skills; ability to prioritize and manage client expectations across multiple projects

Skills:

- A love of data modeling. The backbone of a good data warehouse is the model

- Confidence communicating & translating data driven insights and technical concepts into simple terminology for business clients of various levels

- A passion for customer service.

- Ability to be flexible to the rapidly changing needs of the department and company

- Must be willing and able to work off hours support as needed; some travel may be required

Education:

Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) and or equivalent work experience

MBA or MS are a plus
