A well-funded start-up in logistics is looking for an Engineering Manager to work on and implement engineering strategy, lead a young team of engineers with strong technical skills in software engineering.

Responsibilities

- Build a world-class platform

- Design core, backend and frontend software components

- Analyze and improve efficiency, scalability, and stability of various system resources

- Own, manage and improve the release process

- Identify and resolve performance and scalability issues

- Handle snags and bugs in the platform

- Implement the right architecture and follow best coding standard

- Articulate technical aspects with multi-functional partner

- Develop documentation, tracking etc. as part of the team culture

- Mentor, build and lead the team as necessary

Qualifications

- Prior experience with logistics OR e-commerce companies- mandatory

Tech skills:

- 8 years- experience with experience in at least one general purpose programming language including Java / functional programming with 4+ year experience in architecting, designing, preferably in large scale tech companies

- Experience in payment system, high-concurrency and security practices and with marketplace platform, continuous delivery and deployment.

- DevOps and AWS stacks

- Experience in developing and shipping a large-scale application service

Additional skills:

- Ideally managed a team of at least 10-15 engineers

- Overseas working experience/interaction with overseas counterparts preferred

- Strong leadership experience

- Excellent communication skills including verbal and written English skills

- Engineering from a top engineering college mandatory
