What we expect from you: - Be responsible for the execution and delivery of our Product Roadmap - Be responsible for managing the Engineering processes and tools to maintain and scale a smooth enterprise-grade operation within budgets - Be focused on delivery, execution, and tactical engineering approach - Participate in engineering design and architecture decisions - Work closely and understand the tech architecture and code to be able to provide adequate cross-system solutions to drive our business goals - Work, collaborate, and mentor the development team - Hire Engineers that excel and fit into the culture of the team - Be a key contributor to roadmap planning and product definition - Focus on driving Simplicity and Core Engineering - Principles beat the hype any day You will fit if: - You have been a hands-on software engineer (with a CS degree or equivalent) for more than 7 years - You have managed a team of 10+ engineers - You have worked at a startup in the last 5 years or you believe you'll excel in a startup environment (high ambiguity, high urgency, fast-paced, low support structure) - You've built or managed a team that has built a highly scalable, reliable, and low-latency systems - You can articulate the execution plan with other stakeholders and carry them along - You can inspire and mentor a group of engineers and are passionate about managing and leading people to achieve their full potential - Understand that tough decisions need to be taken many times and its better to take the pain early - You have superb written and verbal communication skills Our Tech Stacks: - Java, React, Kafka, Redis, Cassandra, Elastic Search, and PostgreSQL We are not too fussed about: - Which school or college you went to and what subject you studied - Which technology have you worked on in the past as long as you can learn new stuff Why Wisestep? - Amazing team, awesome culture, and flat hierarchies - Flexible and experimental - Outcome is the king
