KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Manage and drive SW development team executing India projects and liaison between the India SW development team and the US/EMEA based engineering, marketing, and sales teams.

- As a Site Lead work closely with HR/Finance/Facilities and other Fortive Operating Company leaders to ensure smooth operations of IDC site for Sensing Technology Group.

- Mentor engineers to achieve technical excellence and hold team accountable for achieving goals.

- The candidate will be accountable for Quality, Schedule, Reporting on Status and Delivery of SW for India projects.

- Leverage and champion existing IoT Cloud and Edge architecture approaches to achieve Gems Setra agreed commitments to the customer

- Provide oversight and approval of technical approaches and tool implementations.

- Identify, escalate, and work to resolve technical issues to accelerate IoT Cloud and Edge architecture implementations and route non-technical issues to the appropriate party

- Lead IoT Cloud and Edge architecture design, resiliency reviews, and technical optimization that result in driving customer usage and reduce churn.

- Leading and participating in Agile / Scrum activities and reporting project status.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Critical Success Factors:

- Passion for continuous improvement and Agile methodologies.

- Ability to influence and empower reports, driving high employee engagement.

- Bias for action and ability to effectively prioritize and work with minimal supervision.

- Ability to work without constant supervision and lead the direct reports in Bengaluru.

- Work around work blockages and multi-task to maximize results.

- Quality logging of results / reports with supporting data and descriptions.

Required Skills/Experience:

- 5+ years of people leadership experience leading, recruiting, and retaining software engineers with proven track-record of managing teams of 10+ engineers.

- Technical star with extensive experience (10+ years) in developing software either for embedded devices and/or cross platform applications.

- Experience managing multiple projects in parallel through collaboration with engineering and commercial teams present across multiple sites in US/EMEA.

- A self-starter with a track record of getting things done.

Desired Skills/Experience:

- Experience in at least one of the following programming languages: C/C++/Java.

- Good understanding of Networking: TCP/IP Layer, Client Server Architectures etc.

- Experience with Configuration management tools like bitbucket and git, Agile Project Management tools like Jira, CI/CD tools like Jenkins.

- Knowledge of cloud providers (e.g., Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure) and work experience leveraging their services and APIs.

Education - Engineering degree in Computer Science/Electronics/Electrical
