Engineering Manager - Data Science - IT

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead a team of Team Leads, Data Scientists & Product analysts and Manage the delivery of multiple data products

- Understand the business requirements and priorities in depth and work with the stakeholders to build a roadmap for the team

- Take complete ownership of the deliverables of the team and help team leads to estimate and plan their work streams.

- Deliver products in an efficient and timely manner and with great quality

- Identify dependencies across teams and help ensure there are no bottlenecks in delivery

- Mentors, guides and reviews architecture, data science approach and methodologies and helps the team make better informed decisions on the design and implementation

- Collaborating with Engineering and product teams to deliver high impact data science projects

- Guide the team to translate business requirements into data science tasks.

- Be an evangelist of best practices, the right tools and effective collaboration.

- Responsible for communicating the team's output to business

- Plan and execute the learning and growth of the team members

- Responsible for talent planning and for driving the hiring activities

Desired Skills and Experience:

- At Least 10+ years of work experience with at least 2+ years in a leadership position

- Proven ability to work in teams and intercultural environments as well as flexible to work with team mates in different time zones.

- Strong experience of Machine learning (Supervised/Unsupervised) techniques

- Strong experience of Data Analysis techniques

- Ability to explain complex models and analysis to diverse audience

- Strong problem solving skills

- Good experience with Big data tools like Apache Spark/Hadoop/Hive etc.

- Prior experience with cloud services like AWS/Azure/GCP

- Strong people developer/coach

- Strong programming background in R/Python/Java

- Prior experience of working with development teams and good knowledge of software development practices

- Bachelor- s/Master's degree in any Engineering Discipline
