THE JOB: A pat of the technology function at the co., the Engineering Manager (Software Product Development Manager) shall lead a team of very bright, high pedigree software engineers to deliver on product development responsibilities and support the organization in designing & implementing new product features and functionalities. S/he will co-work with other engg. managers in the technology team as well as with multiple counterparts in the product management and customer teams. IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE TYPE: - Experience in working with employers' top management and leadership teams related to product management and engineering divisions to contribute to product design & roadmap laying, building a long-term product vision and implement the same to keep upgrading the product - Experienced at managing software product development teams to deliver superior quality software. Played a technical leader to the engg. team/s, and guide & coach team members and keep them motivated towards the firm's goals & vision. A min. size of 8-10 people is what the latest team handling experience should have involved - Should have contributed to & led creating distributed, large scale, multi-tiered web applications along with databases. Experience in designing web services, APIs, data models and schemas, using SQL or NoSQL, is also a must - Strong in Algorithms, OOD, DS, and problem solving for an array of problem scenarios and technologies - Superb skills in coding in Java or Scala or Golang - Experience in cloud environments/SaaS/hosted products is a must - Highly experienced in Agile development - Ability & strengths in working in Linux and Windows environments will be preferred - Proficiency in data storage tools/solutions/frameworks such as SQL Server, Postgres, Oracle, ElasticSearch, SQL, MongoDB or Hadoop - Delivers high quality software by following continuous delivery and using code quality tools such as Jenkin, JIRA, GitHub, Hudson, Sonar, PMD, Fortify, Checkstyle and Findbugs - Additionally preferred experience & skills for the role: (1) NGINX, Docker, CloudFoundry or 12 factor app, (2) solutions for service discovery, including Consul, (3) strong know-how of new age web devpt. technologies including HTML5, JavaScript, AJAX, Responsive Design and CSS, (4) fairly okay with using scripting languages like Python, (5) Big Data and Machine Learning technologies, (6) third-party integrations, (7) transitioning software from monolithic to micro services - Leverages command on development methodologies, tools and metrics - Good analytical, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills - Promotes best practices across the SDLC, including build processes, reviews, source control, continuous integration and deployment - Keeps continuous delivery and quality of software on high priority OTHER DETAILS FOR THOSE INTERESTED IN APPLYING: - Full-time education in engg. or computer science or a related discipline from reputable institutions like IITs/IISc/RECs/Jadavpur University/Pune University, etc. is a must - Please don't miss on providing full details of your professional experience and present compensation break-up - Don't apply if you're based outside Delhi-NCR and/or if you can't join within 45 days of being offered - Candidates serving their resignation notice period shall be highly preferred, as the position is urgent and needs quick deployment
