Engineering Head/CTO - FinTech (10-15 yrs)

Role: Head of Engineering - Fast-Growing Global Fintech

Company:

The company is a fintech venture striving to provide financial access to the two billion underbanked people in the emerging markets across Africa, Asia and Latin America. The company transforms alternate customer data into financial identity using machine learning to predict their financial behavior, thus enabling the financial institution to design financial products for them. The company has been globally recognized for the high potential and impact of its offering on the large unbanked population across various countries in the world.

Job Location: Gurgaon

Job Objective:

To join in the company's mission and build additional platform services to enable cutting edge lending ecosystems in different emerging markets. The candidate must be able to scale operations while reducing the cost of deployment, maintenance and operations while leveraging partnerships / frameworks that provide a strategic advantage.

Desired Candidate Profile:

Work Experience: 10 -15 years

Core requirements :

- Should help enhance the current codebase to enable creation, deployment and maintenance of digital applications to originate customers for loans and maintain their loan lifecycle.

- Enable development of services/applications that are modular, easy to maintain, are well documented, employ core concepts of object-oriented programming.

- Should have strong research skills with active interest in developments happening in the fintech and payments community especially in the choice of technology adopted by similar startups

Technical skills :

- Should have a good understanding of design patterns in software development.

- Should bring good experience of using open source technologies while building applications.

- Should bring good experience in building and maintaining enterprise applications, bonus points for B2B2C application development.

- Should have solved problems involving applications that functioned well with high concurrency and a large user base of more than 500,000 end users per day of traffic (currently we are working with networks of more than 5 Mn daily active users)

Presentation skills :

- Should clearly articulate the technical value proposition of the platform to customers and highlight specific engineering excellence used in the development process to help the customer's business

- Should work with the product and sales team to aid the customer acquisition process

- Should be able to lead and direct project management teams to ensure smooth operations during deployment, maintenance and upgrades employing the latest devops methodologies.

Domain understanding :

- Should bring decent understanding of one or more of the following sub-domains under financial services: lending / insurance / retail banking/payments/platforms for securities trading / sales and distribution of financial products/accounting/wealth management

Team work:

- Should be able to work well within a small team with strong relationship management and interpersonal skills. Should be able to lead and influence decisions and bring the best out of team members/co-workers. Should be able to implement strong project management practices such as Agile, with active participation in Scrum meetings, sprint planning, retrospections and project budgeting.

Good to haves :

- Experience with Ruby on Rails, Python, application development on Android, iOS, adoption of open source UX/UI development tools, adoption and use of open-source data engineering platforms
