Elchemy - Procurement Specialist - Chemicals - IIM/FMS/MDI/XLRI/NITIE

Elchemy is a tech-enabled chemicals distribution company solving supply chain challenges by taking a software-first approach. It was founded in the latter half of 2021 in the backdrop of global supply chain shocks induced due to the pandemic making the opportunity ripe for disruption. The team is comprised of alumni from IIT-B, IIT-D, IIM-A, & IIM-R, & have previously worked at companies like SRF, Laxmi Organics, Sojitz Japan, Prakash Chemicals International, Amazon Seattle, Samsung South Korea, and P&G. Within just 2 months of launch, the company secured $2M in pre-seed funding from marquee VCs and angel investors, including promoters of some of the publicly listed chemical companies.

Roles and Responsibilities:

- Develop and nurture relationships with manufacturing and trading companies in China and other SEA countries

- Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to understand their sourcing requirements and get them the best sourcing opportunities possible

- Negotiating prices, contracts, and payment terms for spot and recurring businesses

- Identify and execute partnerships with Internal and External stakeholders for smooth execution of Procurement needs.

- Build long-term relationships by creating regular and quick feedback loops with them

Skills and Qualifications:

- 2+ years of experience in any Operations or Project Management role.

- Postgraduate degree in management or equivalent is preferred from Tier 1 colleges.

- Should be excellent at communication and negotiation skills.

- Having bias towards action and do not mind getting their hands dirty to take care of sourcing operations

- Should have an entrepreneurial mindset, strong business acumen and network

- Should be able to commit passionately and take ownership

- Startup experience is a plus
