Ekcle - Manager/Assistant Manager - Investments

Key Responsibilities:

1. Sourcing Early & Growth Stage Investment Opportunities for Company across India

a. Create and develop channels for entrepreneur outreach (through existing networks, new networks, online resources, events, etc.) ensuring maximum region penetration & relevance

b. Build & maintain relationships with entrepreneurs that have potential to be future investees Regularly track their progress and bring them to pipeline when they- re relevant / ready

c. Identify at least 15 new companies per month to add to Company's deals pipeline; do initial screening & filtering after reviewing their pitch decks, IM, financials, etc.; Fine-tune all collaterals (incl. validating assumptions) before presenting to Company IC / external investors

d. Prepare research material, blogs, reports, brochures, presentations, and briefing notes related to deals & opportunities

e. Take at least 5 of these new deals to the IC stage within Company every month, backed by your research on sector, competition, downstream investor mapping, reference checks, etc.

f. Perform research into potential investment sectors that may be unique & promising

g. Support & manage Company's initiatives & events; delivering presentations at various forums & events; plan & execute various investor engagement activities like roundtables, roadshows, client meetings, webinars.

2. Building Relationships with Investors & Key Stakeholders across India:

a. Track and log all relevant events, deals, funds launched, etc. in Company database

b. Attend (offline & online) at least 3 relevant startup events every month & build new network

c. Perform research & log details of key / relevant downstream investors- portfolios, investment thesis, sectors, ticket-size, etc.

d. Facilitate participation of Company's leadership team in at least one event every 2 months as a Speaker / Jury Member

e. Establish at least 4 key relationships every month with incubators, accelerators, investors (HNIs, Family Offices, Angel networks, VCs, PEs), educational institutions, state governments, industry associations, consulates & embassies, research centres, or other relevant entities

3. Collaborating and Team Connectivity:

a. Participate actively in weekly meetings and internal trainings - online, by phone, or in-person.

b. Log details of every event attended, key relationships formed, startups & investors met, etc.

c. Attend investee company / startup review meetings, share minutes / notes, make business connects, and provide any other support required

d. Contribute at least 2 posts per week to Company social media pages and facilitate discussions on relevant topics.

e. Learn & actively use various web services required by Company, such as Google Docs / Sheets, Zoom, Google Meet, Google Drive, Dropbox, Evernote, Asana, LinkedIn, Facebook, etc.

Candidate Profile:

- Masters / Management degree from a premier institute with basic knowledge of Finance / Accounts

- 2-4 years of experience working in a similar / front-end role at an Investment Bank / VC fund / Incubator / Accelerator / Family Office / Corporate / Government agency / Consulting firm

- Prior understanding about the startup ecosystem; having some key relationships / network in place

- Ability to work in teams & take ownership of the tasks at hand is paramount; ambitious, pro-active, self-starter & motivated

- Strong business communication, ethics, etiquettes, research, analytical & networking skills along with stakeholder & portfolio company management

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and deliver on tight time frames

- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, Google Suite, CRM & other tech platforms, etc.

- Should be willing to travel within India & abroad on need basis

- Language proficiency: English, Hindi, local/regional (preferred)

- Some criteria may be relaxed for highly exceptional candidates
