JOB TITLE: Laboratory Manager

REPORTING TO: Engineering Head

JOB DESCRIPTION:

- We are looking for a highly-organized and enthusiastic laboratory manager to ensure that all lab operations run smoothly by scheduling staff, lab inventory management, ordering supplies, maintaining health and safety protocols, and training lab assistants.

- To be successful as a laboratory manager you must be able to multitask and plan ahead.

- A top-notch laboratory manager combines their experience in the science field with excellent managerial skills and process-oriented mindset.

Laboratory Manager Responsibilities:

- Lab Inventory Management

- Ordering supplies.

- Ensuring proper functioning of all the lab equipment

- Drive EHS

- Conduct EHS Audits

- Over see Safety aspect of all lab areas

- Participate in EHS activities at the Candor tech space.

- Ensuring timely calibration of all the instruments

- Implementing 5S principles in the lab

- Managing the disposal of samples.

- Scheduling staff.

- Training lab assistants.

- Upholding health and safety protocols.

Sourcing Specialist Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in relevant Mechanical Engineering stream or Master's degree in Science with minimum 5 years of experience of laboratory management.

- Experience working in a water related lab would be advantageous.

- Proficiency in MSOffice.

- Good understanding of relevant regulatory standards

- Expert knowledge of laboratory health and safety protocols.

- Sound time-management and organizational skills.

- Excellent skills in resource planning

- Excellent managerial skills.

- Good English spoken & written skills.

- Excellent documentation skills.

- Ability to multitask. Relationships:

- Internal : Primarily has to work closely with Engineering team, Sourcing team, lab technicians, EHS officer

- External : R&D suppliers, 3rd party agencies for instrument calibrations, lab certifications etc. Lab Details:

- Water Chemistry

- Microbiology

- Induction Motor testing (up to 10HP)

- Electronics/PCB development lab

- Water pump testing lab (up to 10HP)

- 3D printing and LASER scanning

- Swimming pool equipment testing
